As a veteran tech scrounge, let me be the first to say "You ****" !!! You could make add-on kits for IKEA furniture, or giant model airplane kits.

I'm confused - that looks to be a specialized CNC router with limited Z Axis range. What ARE you planning - cupboard door manufacturing, knockdown furniture kits or maybe parts for rockets?

Based on a quick survey of Marketplace in my area, you have found the truth that we're missing - that Lista products are a better investment than either gold or silver bars for the future SHTF. The rusty thing is $250, the roller cabinet is $450. Lots of single items for $500 to a $1000 or...

    Do you "exercise" your ratchets?

I used to, but quit after the episode where, in spinning my 3/4" drive Snap On ratchet (holding on to an attached socket) I got that baby swingin' good, got it too close to my noggin and went down for the count. Goose egg the size of a .... goose egg.

Bob knows.... Based on your location I think you've got the rattly kind, not the big squeezies...... Bob lives in the land of unwanted reptiles and as I understand it, one mama can have many, many baby nope ropes....

Does the cold slow down the proliferstion of the big nope ropes? (it wanted to spell check that, but I kinda like the word as it stands) ? I hate nope ropes, especially the rattly and big squeezy kind.

When I was 20, I assembled a Bird solid frame Mini Bike (scrub rear brake) with a Mac 9 go cart motor sourced from a guy that Dad worked with.. bad idea, John was a semi pro racer and the Mac 9 wasn't stock. We later calculated it was good for about 85 mph, power band was narrow, as 2 strikes...

When I moved from a Yamaha 1100 cruiser to my first Harley (2012 Street Glide in Big Blue Pearl), I was introduced to ABS braking on a bike. Riding amongst the blue haired set in the Tampa area proved it's value, magnified moreso when I went to an even heavier full dress Ultra. So when I moved...

Bob - good to see ya.. I'm also on the edema trail, double diuretics and multiple compartment pressure boots (supposed to use twice a day). Not a lot of progress. (mentioned in the Pull Up a Chair thread).. Edit: You remember Gus Wilson, right?

    Generator Selection and Install

Which does indicate that, as others have said, you should size the generator to your anticipated load, especially if you are concerned about fuel economy. My area has mostly short, less than a day usually, outages - maybe two or three total a year, with the last one being 17 minutes (I think a...

    Generator Selection and Install

About a year ago, I installed an Emporia Vue3 energy monitoring system. For 200 bucks and a day or so of planning and installation, I've got current real time second by second (also minute, hour, day, month, year) power draw on 98% of the circuits in my home, expressed in amperage, wattage, $...
