Bergen / US Pro chrome or impact are good, really any of the cheaper sets are fine.

Is it real? I've only seen them in Red. The ones in Red also have a Red plastic top.

Makita gold over here they are made in Japan they claim some Japanese type of steel and last along time especially for the price, their gold bit holders and 1/4 bit to square drives are pretty good as well.

They are Taiwan made now but there's plenty of new old french made stock around. The new ones have the similar chrome finishes but are just stamped facom like a generic brand comparable to their expert range.

I know the 1/2 allen sockets are made in france, I assume the 12 point sockets are as well, the ratchet i'm unsure about, but the T handle and extension should be france as well. I believe most if not all the 1/2 stuff is still made in france, other than ratchets and the odd bits.
