Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Thanks fellas! JDMopar, I forgot to respond to your post, I definitely plan to run as large of pipe as possible. Cost is minimal from 2.5" to 3" while the trench is open, after that it hurts haha. Anyone using a new photo sharing program that works? Also, Ive noticed several locals on here...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Tim, the 16' tall walls are 12" centers. When it drops down to 10' walls the spacing goes to 16" if I remember right. The trusses are 22" spaced (again if I remember right). Been a lot of numbers in my head!! It is overkill for sure and everyone I've talked to says the same. I have a friend that...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Sorry guys, I have been swamped with work the last couple months. I will take some new photos to share but from what Im reading, photobucket is on the fritz? Building is painted, roofed, garage doors and man doors installed but no electricity yet. APS is giving me the run around. Dating since...

Opinions needed on a Challenger SA10 2 post, along with in floor lighting under it!

Thank you for the info MrSurly, will look them up right now! Jarhead, the cost that I received was $5700 for the Mohawk System1. I didnt ask if that included tax or installation (I guessing it did not) because it was way out of my budget even at that number. Thank you also easlers, I will...

Opinions needed on a Challenger SA10 2 post, along with in floor lighting under it!

I know a guy selling a rotary lift that is used, 10K lb capacity, ALI certified and says its American made. Should I be comfortable putting a 4x4 diesel Excursion on that lift? Looking online it says the truck weight is 7200 lbs. Also, are parts available for the older Rotary American made...

    Flat rate times? Software?

He actually closed his shop and went back to work for a dealership 6 months ago. Hes already regretting that decision. I will take a look into these 3 and see what works best. As far as coming across a job that I am unsure of the process I usually research online until it puts me way behind...

Opinions needed on a Challenger SA10 2 post, along with in floor lighting under it!

I realize this is a few years old but these are the same questions I was going to ask today! I was excited about the Mohawk System1 until I was quoted a cost. I do appreciate safety and I dont want a **** lift to hold up my diesel Excursion while I work under it, so Mohawk is still an option but...

    Flat rate times? Software?

Hello guys, I am looking for some kind of books, software or website that I can use for reference for job times while working on vehicles. Sometimes I feel like I am undercharging for jobs and other times I feel like I am asking too much. Anyone have any suggestions? A friend of mine was a...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Im embarrassed of my current gate so I cant share that photo just yet, its basically a weathered wood fence. I do like to fabricate so an automatic gate is top priority once the garage is done. Busflyer, I had the same kind of issues with the setbacks but what I learned is that the city has...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

This City is growing so fast. I remember offroading in my Bronco what seems like 10 years ago (but actually over 20 years), not too far from my house. Rock quarries, flood dams, and lots of desert back then. Still a lot of desert but not a lot of places to just pull off the road and banzai. We...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! Ill try to answer the questions I do remember: I wasnt on the HOA board when I proposed the build. We have about 8 members and there are 3 that are dedicated to design and review. Those 3 will make decisions if they are minor but will involve the rest of...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Any photos swharris? I agree Vintage. The building approval board member asked me to not put windows on that wall just so the neighbors didn't feel invaded. I designed the building without windows. I asked the neighbors if they would mind if I put some small windows up high and they said please...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Thank you haha, I like making people laugh (wishing my neighbors would laugh this off). Thats what my wife said too, if any of the guys on the street are pissed its because they are jealous. Every step of the way has been a hassle. Draftsman= 4 months, city= 2 months, concrete= rain delays and...

Garage is framed, bigger than I thought

Sorry about the long wind but for any that want to listen, heres my story. We sold our home in central Phoenix because it was totally remodeled and a beautiful house but was too small for a pool and the three car garage we added to it just wasn't enough. We moved to north Phoenix 14 months ago...

    Concrete slab issues? Need opinions

Fatboy, no he didnt have the vapor barrier in the plans. I did ask about it though and the response from the engineer and the concrete guys was "In Arizona??". I wasnt aware that coating a slab would be effected by a vapor barrier, I will keep that in mind! Thanks again for the info wssix99, I...

    Concrete slab issues? Need opinions

I would like to coat the floor some day but probably wont happen. There are two kinds of sikaflex if I remember right, one is self leveling. That the one? seems like it would just fall into the crack and fill it up, that would take a truck load of silicone.

    Concrete slab issues? Need opinions

    Concrete slab issues? Need opinions

WSSIX99, they did not pin the slab, just installed pins and rebar into the footings. I didnt think it would be all that necessary to pin the slab since it was monolithic, 6-8" thick and had rebar/ stealthfiber but I can see where these is the chance for movement between the 2 pieces. That...
