    Metal-cutting circular blades

I have used them and yes, they are expensive, but compared to a friction grinding wheel on a chop saw, they are SO SO much better, faster, and cleaner. Cuts are also much cleaner in general. Make sure cutting tips are carbide.

hanging ratchets on lid of box

you can get magnets from k&j magnetics (kjmagnetics.com) and epoxy them in place. Use a layer of thin foam to hide them, and you can outline where your ratches go, always putting them in the same place.

Help me pick out some new ratchets

I was in the same boat. Always used the Craftsman 1/4 and 3/8 that came in the tool sets I got a long time ago. I also do weekend wrenching only. I recently started adding ratchets and got the Craftsman Premium set and they are night and day better feeling than the older style. They do the job...

    Toolbox suggestions....

The US General 44" Box is one of the best boxes you can get for the money. They only come in red now. Compared to the Craftsman selection at twice the price point, the HF box is still better. And that was 3 years ago when I bought mine. These days, there really is no competition. Stay away from...

    Craftsman Premium Ratchets

I agree. I used my set (have the 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2) this weekend to do some simple work and they feel very good in your hands. I usually use an FHLF80 and THLF72 for jobs like suspension and interior, but these should fit in nicely. Plus, don't have to worry about dinging up the snap-on's too...

thoughts about something different HF 44"

Another idea would just be to trade up for the HF 56" Box. The box is deeper, and longer. Thus, the storage volume in the top long drawer would be significantly greater, along with all of the other drawers. I know there were comparo's around here somewhere showing the actual volume of the 44"...
