2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

It's still government property until sold. It was in a locked enclosure. However, if you needed something out of there (like a small piece of metal, etc.) the property control person had the keys and we used things out of there as needed to perform the work.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

When I was working for the government, I finally bought new tools for the crews. They were mostly using very old tool sets. Some were well worn while others were OK. The previous supervisor was too conscious of saving every penny with no thought of the time lost working with poor tools. I...

I don't do cars, but if I did...

I have owned several TR2 and TR3 triumphs.... I can guarantee you they Not HARD to PASS. No real fireballs there. But they are a lot of fun on a twisty road...which you can reach down and touch the ground when driving one.

    HF oddest size skip set

I think part of the problem is that when USA Car Manufacturers finally started using metric fasteners, they kind of refused to use what is common metric sizes. I remember being disappointed when the metric set I had skipped 15mm, which my Ford Pickup used on several fasteners instead of the...

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

I understand... I'm not that sharp myself! :) Auger bits are pretty common and seem to be cheap second hand for old quality ones. For the little use they get in my shop I would just find a better one than try to rework the bad ones.

Pliers; How Many Is Too Many?

Yes, I understand. Shooting outside in the southwest sunshine against a white background tends to wash the photos out a bit. However, the stamping on the Smith pliers is very light. Using chalk and a high magnification some of it is not readable. Here is what I can see, and some of it just...
