Had an old pair of 57CP’s that I lost the bolt to and a broken bolt in some 44’s and warranted my old tapper too while I was at it. I miss having a truck guy and didn’t know you could warranty stuff online till recently so I’ve had some catching up to do 🤣. Although the new orange ***** over...

Saturday a warranty replacement for an old 749 that the chrome started bubbling on showed up, a new FN100. Sunday my socket trays from Amazon showed up and I re arranged the drawers on my 41” craftsman box to fit them in a top drawer. And today the TL72 showed up from a eBay impulse buy and the...

How do you store your tools, hitches, & ratchet straps in your truck?

I only need a 2" ball so I tend to keep one locked in the hitch at all times. I don't generally have to haul anything in the bed that needs strapped so I keep straps in a old filing cabinet in the garage but have a tool bag I can toss some in and take with if needed. Otherwise I have a tool box...

Snap On FN100 and TM739, New FN100 and Blue-Point multimeter

Picked these up but they are just going to sit in the drawer so here they are. 739 has a new head kit in it and is in great shape for a 89 date code ratchet. The FN100 was listed as used but if it was I can’t tell it. Looking for $160 Now $140 shipped for both, PayPal (you cover fees), Venmo or...

I’ve done pretty good staying off the tool trucks since switching professions, but today I caved and got lucky! I’ve been after this stubby hard handle flex head for a hot minute and they are now discontinued of course. Well I stopped a SO dealer on his way from a local shop and asked if he had...

    Tool "To Go" Bag

Most of my traveling tools are for helping friends mechanic on stuff they can’t do themselves. Generally everything lives in the main box and I pull what I need into an old dewalt tool bag that came with an old power tool but it’s fallin apart lol. So I’m building a small box that is easy to...

    ICON Socket——color me unimpressed

Heat treat can be tricky, but if they have a good idea of the steels makeup it isn't difficult. Its also likely they hold the baskets at temp for X minutes to allow the sockets to soak and come close to a exact temp before quenching. Same thing I do when I heat treat a batch of knife blades.

    ICON 3/8 Semi-deep chrome

My intent is to use the set in a road box, in combination with a set of 1/4” kids from gearwrench, I’ve been using a set of snappy deeps in one and don’t find that I always need a full deep socket. I like the idea of being able to run by a store and swap one that might get damaged too.

Wish it was full of tools too lol. But I'm happy, I have wanted a box that color since the late 90s early 2000s when they released it. I plan to add some side handles and make it into a road box with foamed drawers so it dont rattle.
