Creative ways to build a shop on an empty lot within city limits?

Many of the more "creative" options discussed would have problems getting a certificate of occupancy. No COO no rental and severely diminished resale value.

    Connecting 2x6s to a 4x4 post in a corner

The OP appears pretty inexperienced and is it tempting to put too much up on lofts. There is a significant risk to the OP or next owner if the structure is not sufficiently attached and then overloaded.

    Connecting 2x6s to a 4x4 post in a corner

If you lack the skills and tools to do a simple post notch, I would reconsider tackling this project by yourself. This may be a time to partner with someone to teach you the basics.

    A modern day old well?

Anytime you put a non-cased or poorly cased down into an aquifer, you have created a path for contamination. If you contaminate your own local perched aquifer that's your problem. If you contaminate a larger aquifer, you should hope you are not sharing it with someone that takes offense to...

Help with shaving down front yard

While builders often leave pretty crummy soil conditions behind, if it has been there for a while, you have build up some fertility and organic matter that I would hate to scrape off and haul away. Depending on what was done before, you could be trading some pretty decent soil conditions for...

Clay soil is killing my trees

This AND quit watering every day - particularly on clay. I would try 3 days a week and if you are having problems with runoff, run all zones for a 5 minute set to wet the surface and then come back with the rest of the water.

    Help me overcome my shallowness!

Mr. Negative here - Even if you find a way to make it work, you will tire of everything it takes to move it, deal with finding space to put it, then clean up and move it back. Based on past experience, either put the bench somewhere else or deal with the shorter space.

    Mobile Plywood Tool Stand Base

I have been looking at these. A little more expensive but don't have to worry about the tool stand or bench moving. https://www.rockler.com/rockler-workbench-caster-kit-4-pack

    Cement board around shower

absolutely red guard or kerdi on the tile side and don't create a double moisture barrier with plastic. Tile/grout is not nearly as water resistant as most folks assume.

    Is this garage extension practical?

Consider the impact on resale value. If it is hard to see the house because the garage is in the way, that will be a real negative on curb appeal.

    8ft tall lumber storage cart?

I came to the conclusion for me that keeping anything more than minimal amounts of lumber or plywood around was false economy. It took up valuable space and even when I thought I did a good job of storage there was always a little warpage. YMMV

    cinder block

One way to get a read on moisture issues is to tape a sheet of plastic to the wall. I would make sure all sides are sealed and do this during the wettest part of the year. If you see moisture accumulating behind the plastic, you have to fix the drainage. If no moisture likely a paint issue.

Cost to build extension to garage

In a lot of areas, there is a limit on how much of the lot can be an impermeable surface. Make sure this remodel does not exceed the limit if it applies in your area.

Large Layout/Work Tables- Anyone have/use one?

Sounds like modifying a Paulk workbench might get you what you want. Layout lines would work and you would not want the dog holes in the bench top in this version.

How to separate machine shop from woodshop dust

If the space is as tight as described, I would be concerned about air quality and it's impact on my lungs. I would find a way to get a dust collector and air filter.

    Strengthen floor for gym

Since the footers would be in an area protected from frost, I think the getting the the footer on undisturbed soil is a lot more important.
