That ***** that Dropbox is not cooperating now. To keep moving forward, and not hold up progress on getting things put away and organized, can you go with a work around? What if you use Excel in Onedrive to hold the info for the QR codes? The QR code would reference to a unique number that...

I have done carts and related with pneumatic casters, and 4 is definitely better. It will rock some going over uneven ground, but it's better overall than 3. If you can maximize the width, that will increase the stability the most. And load the heavy stuff as low as possible. Sounds like...

Yup, the guy used to work for one of the local towing companies, and worked with the big tow trucks for semi-trucks, etc. He did a nice job fabbing his own.

Nope, it went to a local guy near me. I don't think Strouty would want to come to South Dakota for an old forklift.... no power steering, manual transmission, low on power, 2 stage 10' high mast. The guy did have an interesting home-built tow truck system that helped with loading:

@Strouty That was a good summary of your QR code journey. Seems like you're close or ready to try it? Can you print out 5 to start with and just start using it? Don't let perfect get in the way of good enough! The other suggestion...reduce the amount of stuff!!! I know, I know, that's not the...

Looks good enough! Hopefully the kid appreciates the help you provided. And thinks and reacts a bit more carefully in traffic going forward. Are there any tasks you can have him do as "repayment" ie mowing the grass, pushing a broom, etc?

Glad to hear it stayed relatively small. No sense in sharing drama. Back to forklifts and plasma tables!!!

How did it turn out at the rental house fire? Hopefully it was small and easy to resolve, and not a serious one. Hoping for the best for you.

@Strouty How was the weekend for you? I had planned to pour concrete on Saturday for my shed project, but the concrete plant had their water meter assy fail and weren't able to fill the concrete truck, so all jobs were cancelled. So that sucked, as I had labor lined up and wanted to get this...

There is a bearing/seal company near me that specializes in bearings and seals. If you can measure the seals, maybe they could just cross match based on size and style? They ship their parts. Here's their website: https://www.cartneybearing.com/ I used them a few years ago when I had some odd...

Do you have better pics of the hydraulic motors with some dimensions? What little I can see of the motor in the vise, it looks pretty similar to common hydraulic motors. It might be cheaper and easier to just replace the motors and be done with it.

I'll add to the fire on fire extinguishers... since I have a side business, and since I manufacture and sell amphibious vehicles, and that requires dealer licenses through the state of South Dakota, which then requires product liability insurance, which meant a site visit by the insurance agency...

Sounds like you're making good progress on getting it to cut, and cut decent. The thing to remember is at what point is it "good enough" so you can move onto the other multitudes of projects? Also, that cut quality is going to go down as the consumables in the torch head get use on them, so...

On the plasma table, perhaps one more item to check before you try to start making more cuts, is to check if the travel of the x and y motors actually results in the correct movement. If you program the x-axis to move 12", does it actually move 12"? Same with Y-axis. There might/should be...

@Strouty with your extensive paper records, can you fairly quickly pull property tax statements to show ownership? Good luck with this one, sure to be a pain that you didn't need.

I think your HVAC buddy brings up a good point on complexity. As you gear up to replace it, whether it's yourself or someone else, how can you (them) reduce complexity in the entire system? That "might" help with the overall system cost, and help your future self (wife) if anything does go...

Any pics of said stuck bolt/easy out? Is it a through bolt hole, or a blind hole? I almost never use an easy out because they just break off. I usually just keep drilling it larger until it's just the threads left, and then just peel them out of the hole. I've had decent luck with welding...

Cool pics of Perk hard at work! Look at that knuckleboom solve the problem of loading! How did you get the almost dead trailer battery working to tilt the trailer? Assumption that's what it was for. Hey, is rain better than snow???? It was warm, sunny and slightly windy here in SD today, so...
