    DB Sound Meters

I learned a lot about sound and sound ordinances when I owned a coffee shop that had bands on the weekend. As the band started playing, I would check them at the property line by the neighbor who would call the police about the noise. If they were to loud I would have them turn it down and...

    flower shop cooler

A while back I studied how the walk in cooler was fabricated on site at a coffee shop/café that I work at. They used 2" thick foam sandwiched between plywood and the plastic wall panels.

    Basement wall paint

Drylok. It seals out moisture and adheres well. Make sure you clean the walls with TSP and water or used a wire brush to remove all of the efflorescence and let dry a day or two. If you do not prep the paint will not adhere properly. Jim

Am I stupid to want covers for my T5 fixtures?

I am wanting to do the same thing. Lowes had 4 foot t5 fixtures on clearance for 65 cents each. I cleared the shelves- 8 of them= total $5.20. :rocker: I had to go to Home Depot for the bulbs. They are expensive- $12.00 each bulb but rated for 35,000 hours. The T5 are actually more...

Any great ideas for painting Exterior plywood?

I am currently painting our house and will share with you what I have read and experienced so far. The wood siding has not been painted for many years and had many areas that had peeled. It took me about 50 hours to scrape, sand and prep it enough to paint. Prep is the most important part of...

Is this a good price for electrical work?

That's a great price for the amount of work. Make sure your wall receptacles are 20 Amp with the wire right sized. Are you going to have an air compressor? Might be worth it to add a 240v circuit and receptacle at the planned location while he is there. OT-I graduated from Bel Air High in 90...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

After reading all 167 pages I had to join and post a big Thank You Jack for the great read. In addition to the your eye for cool design; you have,as my wife puts it, an articulate style of writing. There are not many people that are willing to share everyday life as much as you have. It...
