You do not need any specialty tools. Just the basics- table saw, miter saw, drill press, band saw, sanders, routers, drills, air compressor, paint guns and clamps, clamps, clamps, (never enough clamps). More will be needed but this gives you the idea. Time is money when you are building items...

I agree with ^^^. Can you build a shed? Follow plans? I could probably stick build a completed building minus the slab with basic doors for less than the kit.

Don't be afraid to just make sawdust. Use cheap wood to start. Even if the project does not turn out like you are expecting; it is still experience. We all have been newbies at one time. Many of my first pieces were rough and did not look so good. A good first project would be a cheap but...

Very Interesting. Am watching the progress. Just yesterday, some coffee importers stopped by the café that I work at and have just got back from Uganda. It is from a forest preservation plantation. I am looking forward to tasting the coffee that they send

Definitely! I picked up the green link belts that harbor freight carries- http://www.harborfreight.com/vibration-free-link-belt-43771.html for my Atlas 12x36 metal lathe and it removed a lot of vibration. It made for a much cleaner cut and a lot less chatter. Bonus was that these were made...

Trash it! Good chance if you fix it something else will break on it soon. Best to buy a new one and cut your losses on this one.

It can be done......but it depends on how in shape you and your arms are. To hand mix concrete right will take a good amount of energy. I have mixed a few bags by hand to pour a slab and I vowed to buy a mixer next time. I now have a electric mixer that makes things much easier. I have used...

There are Food safe powder coatings that are approved by the FDA. The colors are limited though. I would guess they hold up to abrasion as well as other powder coatings. Jim

I picked up one of these at Ikea and keep it around the drill press mostly. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80169636/ $14.99 They shine a small but very bright light that works wonders. Plus they are very durable being LED. Next time I go, will pick up a few more to space around...
