Anyone use propane for heat? what are your thoughts?

I have been heating both my home and garage with propane for almost 4 years now with good success. I recently upgraded the house to a Mr. Heater 30,000 BTU ventless propane model, and it's a fantastic heater. But keep in mind I live in a fairly mild climate. But this thing will take the morning...

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

You bring up a good point about power failures. If it were to happen in my case, it would not be an emergency issue, because it never gets below freezing here. But in a much colder climate it could very well be a disaster, if a supplemental heating supply, (such as a ventless propane heater)...

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

The heat pump works. Albeit not very well. It runs a lot for the amount of heat it produces. Heat pumps are little more than an air conditioner that runs backwards. Out here they're not very efficient. Which is why many go to an alternate source of heating, like a ventless heater. And they take...

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

Yes, I have a CO detector. The heater WILL NOT set it off, regardless of how much it runs. These heaters are perfectly safe, and have been proven so for years. CO emissions ARE NOT a problem when using them. The states and municipalities that don't allow them today, do so because they are...

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

Another thing is that it doesn't get that cold here. Almost NEVER below freezing. Usually the upper to mid 40's is pretty much the norm. If it does get into the upper 30's, that's really cold in these parts. When I lived in the Midwest, (Chicago area), well below freezing, and even sub zero...

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

They do add a bit of moisture. But out here in the desert, that's a welcome by product. Our relative humidity is so low as it is, (especially in the Winter months), even with the added moisture, the indoor relative humidity seldom gets above 30% when running it.

    Supplemental Home & Garage Heating

Around here most homes are heated by heat pumps. It doesn't get freezing, but it can and often does drop down into the high 30's this time of year at night. (December through February). I've found heat pumps just don't work that well, and are expensive to run. The house came with a small...

Best Adhesive For Gluing Foam Rubber To Wood ??

I picked up a can of the 3M Super 77. The stuff worked great. Easy to control the spray, and the stuff is really strong once it sets up. Didn't melt the foam at all.

Best Adhesive For Gluing Foam Rubber To Wood ??

I should add I intend to test it with a couple of scrap pieces, to see how well it will work. I would just like to select the right glue the first time. So I'm reaching out to you guys that have more experience than I do... Which is a grand total of none.

Best Adhesive For Gluing Foam Rubber To Wood ??

I'll consider anything that will work. I'll be the first to admit my knowledge isn't stellar about adhesives involving foam rubber and plastic..... Except to be careful in not choosing something that will cause it to melt into a gooey mess.

Best Adhesive For Gluing Foam Rubber To Wood ??

I'm looking for a good adhesive to attach this foam weather stripping to OSB board. I don't want anything that will attack and melt the foam rubber. Any suggestions on something that will work? I'm going to be mounting a gable vent fan, to exhaust air out of my shed in the hot weather. And I'm...

What To Coat OSB Shed Floor With ??

I ran power to this shed this past week. Everything worked out well. I have a 10 AWG power cord about 6' long from the power post and box, to the side of the shed where it enters. I'm going to cover the O.D. of the cord with split wire corrugated tubing, sealed at both ends with heat shrink...

What To Coat OSB Shed Floor With ??

Well I painted the floor with the grey gloss Valspar, and it turned out well. I was able to get 2 heavy coats out of a gallon, with very little left over. (Not enough to save). I would recommend this paint to anyone for this application. It is extremely thick, (almost gel like), and covers...

What To Coat OSB Shed Floor With ??

Out here we get very little rain. And when it does come it doesn't last long, and it evaporates very quickly. 4" a year is a lot here.

What To Coat OSB Shed Floor With ??

I don't have any "left over" paint. So I'm thinking about going with this... https://www.lowes.com/pd/Valspar-Dark-Gray-Gloss-Latex-Porch-Floor-and-Patio-Porch-and-Floor-Paint-Actual-Net-Contents-128-fl-oz/1000380491 The stuff gets pretty good reviews, and isn't priced too bad. It's latex...
