    Baseplate Lift with Garage Tiles

I didn't realize the baseplate was that thick. Probably go up to it with the tiles.

    Baseplate Lift with Garage Tiles

I was planning on an overhead lift a extending the top plate above the ceiling. But I've decided to go with garage floor tiles and thinking about baseplate lift. Then routing the the bottom of the tiles the depth of the baseplate and placing them over it. Thoughts?

    Hybrid-X Garage Floor Tiles

Thanks for the response. I just placed an order so I'll provide feedback once it is installed. We're 27 days from closing on our house so I should have them installed the first week of December. Since the tiles kind of have a pattern, I went with all dark gray tiles

    Hybrid-X Garage Floor Tiles

I have 740 sqft of garage to cover. I found Hybrid-X tiles that are 17"x17"x.65" that are Made in Tennessee. A guy on FB Marketplace sells them for $2 sqft. Home Depot sells them for over $5 sqft. Has anyone used these?

Two Zone Mini Split for 750sqft Garage - Head Placements

I thought the wall units that are mounted up high are called cassettes. My worry with a single system is keeping the shop area cool. I live in Florida and it will be like Hell's basement in there in the summer. We will have to come up with a plan on keeping the garage doors down and only...

In order to minimize hose lengths, this is where I'd like to put the Cassettes. Thoughts? Do I need dual zone? Thanks!

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

Good idea on cutting the 2x2 holes for the columns! If I do cut a slot, I'm wondering if I can extend the safety bar a couple of inches below the ceiling.

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

The lift I'm looking at buying is the Atlas Pro9D which is in my budget. I have a fixed budget to do the entire garage and we also have another $60k of things to buy for the house. While it isn't a Mohawk, it will serve me well for what I need to do. I'm also keeping an eye out for used lifts...

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

The lift is going in the double bay on the right - so in the middle of the garage. I thought of Max Jax but it is only 7k and the cost of gone up 50% since I looked at them last. The trusses are run the correct way to cut between the ceiling joists like @gizardlizard did in his garage.

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

Below is what I was planning to do. But if I could build a tray ceiling, I could get the full height capacity of the lift. Snapped this picture from YouTube of a guy that did his lift this way.

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

Here is picture of the house as of Friday. The 2 bay is 19' wide and 21' deep. We added the third bay that is 10' wide by 21' deep. The forward tandem bay is 10' wide by 14' deep and will be my workshop. Already planning on doing a high lift garage door track and wall mount opener. Garage...

10'6" Garage Ceiling - want overhead lift - build tray?

We'll be moving into to our new house in early December. I'm planning for a 2 post overhead lift but only have a 10'6" ceiling. I want an overhead because I don't want to deal with a baseplate and I think overhead has another level of safety if anchors break free (could be wrong). I've...

    My New Garage Adventure

I recently retired and my wife and I move to Fernandina Beach, FL from Atlanta. I'm 61 and have been wrenching on things for as long as I can remember. I've restored a few cars over the years which will be my hobby in retirement. I retired as a CIO but in when I was 14, I started working in a...
