I didn't realize the baseplate was that thick. Probably go up to it with the tiles.

I was planning on an overhead lift a extending the top plate above the ceiling. But I've decided to go with garage floor tiles and thinking about baseplate lift. Then routing the the bottom of the tiles the depth of the baseplate and placing them over it. Thoughts?

Thanks for the response. I just placed an order so I'll provide feedback once it is installed. We're 27 days from closing on our house so I should have them installed the first week of December. Since the tiles kind of have a pattern, I went with all dark gray tiles

I have 740 sqft of garage to cover. I found Hybrid-X tiles that are 17"x17"x.65" that are Made in Tennessee. A guy on FB Marketplace sells them for $2 sqft. Home Depot sells them for over $5 sqft. Has anyone used these?

Good idea on cutting the 2x2 holes for the columns! If I do cut a slot, I'm wondering if I can extend the safety bar a couple of inches below the ceiling.

The lift is going in the double bay on the right - so in the middle of the garage. I thought of Max Jax but it is only 7k and the cost of gone up 50% since I looked at them last. The trusses are run the correct way to cut between the ceiling joists like @gizardlizard did in his garage.
