Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

Got the lift setup and put the wife’s old Yukon on it as the expendable mule for the maiden lift. I’m not sure I’ll be able to get my truck high enough to change the oil standing straight up. May have to raise the lights above the joists instead of hanging under them. 12’ ceiling. Have a...

Bosch GLL-55 Laser Level - trashed?

Had it for a few years, been great. Got it out to use it yesterday and found the AA batteries had spilled their guts. I wiped it out / off, blew it out with air hose, and installed new batteries but nada. Anyone ever sent one of these in for repair? Is it even repairable?

Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

Haha, I was just glad the guy got it on the trailer. He drove the fork truck (that was too small) in the parking lot and picked the lift up at the garage door that is closed in the pic. So he had 3000# load that was 17’ long up in the air about 6’ high. His rear tires were floating nearly the...

Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

Picked the lift up this evening. Hope to put it together this weekend. The trailer I rented was not ideal, WAY too little tongue weight, I’d definitely recommend to anyone a trailer with the wheels farther to the rear. Got off the interstate soon as I could for the back roads.

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

I’ve decided to use a sheet of UHMW instead of a thrust bearing. Lift is supposed to arrive 1/4 so I’ll see how it’ll work out then.

Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

I know it’s Christmas Eve and all, but if one of you guys get a chance the next few days, could you tell me the measurements of the two items in the pic? 1) the width of the power unit arm 2) the mounting bolt spread My lift isn’t here yet, but I’d like to be able to order parts to have when...

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

I’ve got an Advantage Lifts 9000XLT on the way and researching mods I may want to add. Thinking about where to mount the power unit, I can see where either side of the post it’s mounted on may be in the way under some condition. Has anyone ever done or think it would work well, to drill the...

Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

Got a text today that they got the jacks in stock. Called and placed the order. Said I should get the shipping info next week, hopefully it doesn’t jack up Christmas plans / travel. Been working for a couple weeks on rearranging my shop to make room for the lift. Looking forward to using it.

    Funnel/greasy item storage?

I always clean them out after using, couple paper towels all it takes. Used to toss them in a milk crate but they gather dust and have to be cleaned again before using the next time. Got tired of that and bought a clear tote with lid at Walmart to keep them all in. Clean and ready when I need one.

Advantage Lifts and crew cab trucks

Called to order a lift today but they don’t have the manual rolling jack in stock. Should be in stock within 2 weeks he said. Looking forward my next oil change. Hoping I can have the lift to undercoat our vehicles with fluid film before weather turns and they start salting / spraying the roads...

    AA pen type flashlight suggestions?

Why does it matter? His requirements aren’t the same as yours, why should he have to justify or explain to you WHY his requirements don’t align with yours?

    AA pen type flashlight suggestions?

Been using these about 10yrs, love them. They’re rugged, bright, adjustable beam, small enough to stuff in a pocket or hold in your mouth if needed, take 1 AA, and cheap enough to not worry about it when you loose one. Just ordered 5 more this morning actually. I keep one in stashed in every...

Photo Request: Clean walls vs Putting things on the walls

IMO, you’re trying to pack 10# of **** in a 5# bucket and have it look nice, that’s not gonna happen without some self discipline. The only answers are: 1) get rid of 5# of **** 2) get a 10# bucket (and don’t then get 15# of ****) 3) pile, cram, stuff, stack **** any where you can to get the...

    Rhino USA Tie Downs

33 years of hauling dirt bikes / street bikes with Ancra cam buckle ties downs and never had an issue. Have some other brands that I use as well. I keep a set of cam buckle tie downs in my truck for anytime I need to keep something from sliding around in the bed of the truck /trailer or...

Concrete blankets - will 20 fit in full-size SUV ?

My wife called this morning and asked if she could fit 20 in a Yukon and they laughed at her lol. We went and switched out with my boys truck and only got 10 in it, so made 2 trips. Some of the work we had done included a pad where our driveway meets the main road and there’s very limited space...

    Fiber pull in 3/4 conduit

Gotcha, you should be good with the empty 3/4” pipe. But honestly at 70’, you may not even need fiber as Cat6 will carry 10 Gig around 165’.
