Setting a steel post for sat dish

So the Dish tech came this morning ready to dig a hole in hard, frost covered ground - he was happy that I only wanted to talk :badteeth: I showed him the location and a section of the 2" square tubing I am going to use. He got on his phone and pulled up an app and pointed in the sky and showed...

Setting a steel post for sat dish

The tubing is 9’ drop I have left over. I called both companies yesterday asking if they any requirements as far as diameter / height / etc. I’m guessing they won’t want to mount over a specific height (6’ maybe?), so if I direct burry, I’ll put 3’ in the ground for 6’ post height. If I use a...

Setting a steel post for sat dish

Got a new house build and refuse to put holes in it for satellite dish and internet antenna. My plan is to use a 9’ stick of 2” square tubing I have laying around as a mounting post about 50’ out in the side yard. I think it’s either 3/16” or 1/4” wall, it’s stout. I’ve already got a 2” LB...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Skimming thru the thread, I see the st48232 fixture was removed in 2017. Have folks had better luck with them since then? With Bee's pricing, I could keep a little more green in my pocket by going with them over the Max Lite, tho I'd be ok with spending a little more if it pays off in the long run.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I've got new house construction and it's time to get my light order put together. I'm putting 4' dual tube fixtures in my basement and garage. Both with 8'6" ceiling height. I plan to go with the Max Lite fixtures on page 1 of this thread. While looking at LED tubes, I see the Greentek tubes...

Running ENT to old work drywall boxes

Good to hear 4 Cat6 went thru 3/4" pvc easy, I was wondering about the fill / drag issue. I'd planned to use solid boxes and probably tape any holes in them to keep the foam out - that would **** lol.

Running ENT to old work drywall boxes

Farmallboy you got any update in your search? I went to lowes and looked all over the store for tubing ideas. My Lowes only carries ENT in 3/4" and 1/2" dia. I need some larger for running HDMI cable through. Same sizes for non-metalic liquid tight (seal tight is what I've always heard it...

Running ENT to old work drywall boxes

I'm at this exact stage in my build and researching the same things. I will be running some type of flexible tube in the walls from attic or basement to the LV box in each room where I want a PC, TV, etc so in the future I can pull additional or different wire to that spot if needed. So far I'm...

    Down lighting driveway

Build in progress and realize I want to have some down lighting to light the concrete area in front of garage door. Would come in handy unloading a vehicle at night (dirtbikes, trailer, etc). I will have a security light under the front porch eave that will shine that direction, and also barn...

    Covered Deck roof questions

DANG  I'm doing the exact same thing right now - house build in process and did NOT even think of having the builder space the collar ties out wider for lights. I've already got them wrapped in PVC trim board (that **** ain't cheap). Back porch isn't finished yet, but roof and interior...

Outdoor light (dusk to dawn) for Building? Advice? Led?

Looks like you've mounted a white-ish looking plate / cover to the bottom of the housing where the post would have went. Was that plate included or something you fabbed up?

Outdoor light (dusk to dawn) for Building? Advice? Led?

This light still working good? Can it be used without the photocell as just an on/off light? Or would you need to leave photocell installed and just cover it up? It looks like you mounted it without using the pole? Any concerns with the housing strength mounted that way? I’m thinking of...

How would you light this space?

I do plan to have rack shelving in the space, so I think your suggestion of the lights being parallel to the walls makes great sense. What do you guys think spacing between the lights would be best? 2', 4' ? I don't want to go too much and have dark spots between them.

How would you light this space?

You can't see the pic? Weird, I can see it on my laptop, but not when on my phone. I'll try and fix that.

How would you light this space?

How would you light this space? (pic included) Have a house build in process and need to decide on lighting layout for basement area. The area outlined in yellow will be used for storage (food, supplies, stuff, etc), but I like to SEE with plenty of light. It is under my concrete front porch...
