Brand selection between Rheem vs. Rennai

It was done as part of a much larger renovation project but I think it was $3000 installed. We are saving $70 a month on our electric bill with no noticeable change in propane usage.... So figure 42 months to make it back in electric usage alone. Our tank was 11 years old and due for...

Mounting "shims" of drywall under lights on unfinished walls?

Haha! Now I can't unsee it. It's not like that in person.

Mounting "shims" of drywall under lights on unfinished walls?

I had the exact same thought as I can't afford $6500 in drywall right now. In the end, I was convinced to just install the lights and take them down when it's time to drywall... At least this way you'll know exactly where the wiring needs to come through and the lights will be right where you...

Brand selection between Rheem vs. Rennai

We've had a Rheem for a little over a year with no issues. The only downside is that it does take longer for the water to get hot out of the taps vs the tank heater. It's only my wife and I in the house and we use very little hot water and are away a lot. We had an 80 gallon electric tank...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT White Mountains Garage 28x54

I had borrowed a friends welder in the past but decided it was time to invest in my own. After about 100 hours of reading, I pulled the trigger on the Millermatic 211 and the Lincoln Viking 3350 helmet. Of course, I also needed welding gloves and a jacket plus a 3M respirator and an extension...

Switch with a light - Is this wiring right?

A few months ago, I couldn't have told you what colors and how many wires were even in a box. :eyecrazy: I'm still very much a noobie and I was confused that they call the black screw "common" yet show the line coming in as "hot". I thought "common" meant neutral and so was like... :dunno...

Switch with a light - Is this wiring right?

Just when I thought I had it all figured out I'm a little confused by this diagram. I understand the switch needs a neutral to run the light but its not 100% clear if this is where the wires go. And this is how I think the wiring should be installed: Does that look right? :shocking:

Wanting to build in Seacoast NH - Need Input

I was quoted almost double what you want to spend to build a 26x26 garage in Windham, NH. Granted, this was the contractor doing everything and we just write the checks. We needed some extra site work done to make it work but it's still outrageous.... In the end, we bought a huge garage up...

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

Whats the difference between that one and this one on Amazon for 9 bucks in my previous post? **Fixed Broken Link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z0RLL2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    IT Gurus - SFP+

Some are "active" and "passive", it depends on the equipment and as stated above, some vendors lock down to only their branded cables. :willy_nil I would probably just **** it up and get the Dell Branded TwinAX cables. Then if you have a problem you can call Dell and they can't blame it on...

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

Thanks for all the comments. I spent some time reading and I think this is what I need? **Fixed Broken Link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z0RLL2/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Then I can just wire 120 from my wall switch to "switch" the power on and off?

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

It looks like its not really rated for 60amps but for 30amp. Booo "Two Pole Relay Contacts rated for 30 Amps AC (combined maximum of 30 Amp total current)"

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

And I just realized even better than that... I can just run a normal wall switch that powers the 120v outlet for the box with existing stuff I have since the walls are still open...and maybe get a switch with a built in light that comes on when its on. So if shut off the lights, I'll notice...

    Wiring On/Off switch for 220v 5hp Compressor

I just ran across that! Looks like I would just need an appliance module: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013V58HU/?tag=atomicindus08-20 and a wall switch: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0035YRCR2/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Would it really be that easy?
