What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Yeah it is. 4 pretty thick aluminum bolts and the bracket seems to be cast aluminum. It mounts to the engine then the top arm sits atop the engine mount which is bolted to the subframe.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Ended up fixing the car on Friday after work. Turns out all 4 bolts were snapped so basically I had no engine mount on the passenger side which led to the vibrations obviously. After dropping the subframe, some cursing and sore muscles I got everything replaced. LUCKILY the aluminum bolts spun...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Hit a small bump due to road construction the other day and my car (2008 bmw 328xi wagon) started shaking bad, at all times, stopped, driving, turning, in nuetral and park, no check engine lights so I though I popped a motor mount. I took the undercladding off this week and found that 2 bolts...

    DIY security cameras

Wyze cameras on Amazon are cheap and good quality. Easy to setup, wireless (just need a power wire), good quality, nice features, great app, no monthly charges. I have a regular little cam in the house and a "pan" cam watching the driveway.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did that once on an old cabover style work van with the short tiny hoods. Just got done working on it and only took it to the parking lot for a test drive, like 15mph tops, but it was enough to catch the hood, smashed the windshield. good times

    Anti seize on wheel lugs

On the side of the road just let your jack down a touch till it pops off.....maybe (is that a terrible idea, seems so) I use a plastic dead blow to knock them free at home.

    Anti seize on wheel lugs

toughest/tightest lug nuts I ever removed were on my old C230k, I was jumping on the damn breaker bar, car was rocking, it was crazy. They are a pain but you should have the little threaded dowel that allows you to screw it into the top one to hold the wheel in place.

I thought the same thing, is there a bar behind the green mount that connects the twos skids?

    Fire Hose Questions

I really like the sprinkler idea as a former NICET licensed sprinkler system designer. With a 1.5" line @ 85 PSI he could setup a nice little system out back with a manual valve should he ever need it. At the beach though, no idea where that is, does it freeze? etc. That would decide what...

    Oil Filter Position on Cars

BMW filter is on top, GOOD. So was the Benz, on top and easy, no spills. 17 Jeep cherokee (V6) is on top as well Old 06 Honda Pilot was on bottom and above a cross member which spilt oil both ways when it drained, great car but bad design on that.

    Garage ceiling speakers

To answer your question, we don't know. Easiest way to find out is to wire the ones up that will be above the door, just loose wire inside the garage, crank the sounds, open the doors, get on a ladder and hold one over the door. If you get no resonance that way, they ain't gonna resonate when...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This is what I fear, and you are probably right but we shall see. The car has 90k on it now and I have never messed with the AC, I have only had it since 68k though.

Topped of the r134a in the bmw this morning. noticed over the weekend the ac was not cold anymore. I really hope it doesn't have a leak but we shall see. low side was 15psi, high side was 115. low side now at 35ish, where it should be for an e90 according to many forum posts and what not and...
