    Tboy's short attached 2 car!

Today! So that brings me pretty much up to today. I spent the last week cleaning and organizing and for the first time since we moved in was able to get TWO Cars in the garage! Terrible picture I know, but I was super pleased. I completed a water pump on the green one while waiting for...

    Tboy's short attached 2 car!

Now starting in 2018 I've been happy to use the garage for since we moved in. Even tough it is still small it beats working outside. Over the years it has mostly housed one car, and the other side filled with stuff. Not necessarily junk, but stuff. I don't keep any particular car in there...

    Tboy's short attached 2 car!

Oh Goodness: Raccoons! I wasn't in the house for very long when we decided something was up with the garage. This house was a foreclosure so it had sat empty for a few years before us. There was a large black spot on the ceiling, and it stunk. I remeber opening the window and letting it air...

    Tboy's short attached 2 car!

And Thus it Begins Here are a few pics from the days we moved in: Front Wall looking towards street: Entrance to kitchen: The pile shortly after move in: I was in heaven! See above that I even had some old kitchen cabinets set in place because of a much needed kitchen remodel. I now...

    Tboy's short attached 2 car!

Tboy's shallow 2 car! Like so many others, I really enjoy coming to the GarageJournal almost every day. I find the posts and build threads inspiring, and they have given me lots of motivation to get to work on my own garage. I will share some things here in the hopes that others might find it...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Tuner4life's 30x40x15 shop and 2 car attached garage.

Nice looking welder! I have a hand crank air hose reel and it was a real game changer when I put it in. Next upgrade will be a self winding one like you have there, nice.

The Studio Kitchen Cabinet & Shelf Build

Thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching it, and don't want to detract from the amazing work you did. Honestly I was a little disappointed to watch you use what was probably several thousand dollars worth of tools. I hope to get there someday, but today is not that day! Does anybody know...

I think my lighting idea's are DIM!

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. My two considerations for using can lights were: 1) Cost. 12 can fixtures are $120 (and I got six for free). 12 bulbs (1750 lumens) are $60. 2) Once I put up cans I am done, no need to tear down and re-set when I get the drywall done. Platonic...

I think my lighting idea's are DIM!

I think I'm making a mistake here with my lighting choices. Here we go: Standard 2 car garage, 21' wide with 10 ft ceilings. UNFINISHED for now. I plan to put drywall on the ceiling in the future. Trying to upgrade, was given six brand new can-light enclosures for free. I thought this...

Help with installing LED light strip

A question though, if the lights are yellowing, can you not just change the color mixing? Did it inadvertently get set to a warm white? The strips I have had use small infrared remote to change a bunch of presets. The "controller" has a little infrared diode on it.

Help with installing LED light strip

FastHotrod has it right. Those strips of LED are really simple. You provide +12V to some little controller, and the controller switches ground on and off to change the colors. The "Connector" is just a circuit board "header" with 0.1" pitch soldered on with some heat shrink. Male...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Standard 2 car turned shop , Thanks Jack!

Have you looked into a mini-split? I’ve seen some 120v models. If you don’t want to run 220 I wonder if you are trying to keep the install complexity low which may rule the mini split out. I used a kerosene bullet heater for years in a large 40x40. It works, but the fuel was not cheap. If we...

Stop sound from in-ceiling speakers into room above

Re: Stop sound from in-cieling speakers into room above Thanks guys, already have the speakers left over from a home theater install that I upgraded. I like the looks of them installed in the ceiling and not taking up floor space, plus I think I will be able to keep them on at lower volume...

Stop sound from in-ceiling speakers into room above

Hello all! I have bedroom above my garage, and I would like to install ceiling speakers into the joist cavities above. Right now, there is no drywall (due to an unfortunate episode with a family of racoons). We don't park in there today, and am planning on getting the drywall back up so I am...

I think I would have made that a small shelf, like a display shelf. I know you said earlier you are not much for more decoration. I think though that I would have put my detailing (or a selection) of supplies on there. I like Griots garage stuff, and their labeling is simple and elegant!

Thanks! I think you’ve given me the answer I need. I am thinking about putting my saw under the small stair platform as you walk into my garage from the house. I think I have about 30 inches so I think the 25” dimension you mentioned would be if the saw was still in operating position (but...

I spy a collapsible Bosch saw stand? How do you like that? I’ve been considering buying one for my craftsman saw. Is it fairly universal? Can you tell me what the collapsed height is?
