That looks great! I'd love to be able to get my handles that shiny. I wonder how they did it.

    Last find of the day was this old Craftsman vise with 3.5" wide jaws. $15 <a href='http://i.imgur.com/g8aZ6os' title=''><img src='http://i.imgur.com/g8aZ6os.jpg' alt='' title='Hosted by imgur.com' /></a>

I plan on doing that. It was covered in metal shavings so I plan on taking it all the way down and cleaning all the moving pieces.

I guess I should have said "X-Y milling table" but I plan to put it on a drill press.

    Closing machine shop acquisitions

Correct! Pretty interesting set of pliers with the wire cutter on the side. They have an interesting mechanism and they close with the jaws pressing directly together instead of at an angle like most pliers.

    Closing machine shop acquisitions

Just got back from a closing machine shop sale. The guy running it said the shop was his father's and since the son had his own shop, he sold off a bunch of duplicate tools. I got this Mastercraft drill press vise which works really smooth, a Snap-On, Bluepoint and Williams wrenches, some...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Have you guys ever seen a box like this? Notice where the handle is on the deep middle drawer. Every 10 drawer box I've seen has the handle on the top. <a href='http://i.imgur.com/brSBqdr' title=''><img src='http://i.imgur.com/brSBqdr.jpg' alt='' title='Hosted by imgur.com' /></a> <a...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

One thing I noticed between my right and left logo boxes was that the 6 drawer top box with the logo on the left had no horizontal lines going across the top lid, unlike my right logo 10 drawer top box.

    Can someone identify this wrench?

Makes sense. I found a few other Barcalo wrenches in there as well. Thanks fellurs! Edit: Did some digging and the E code along with the lack of chrome plating and rough finish suggests it was made during 1944.

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this. When I was cleaning out my mid box and putting in new liners, I noticed the previous owner used the cardboard packing box the tool box came is as drawer liners. <a href='http://i.imgur.com/ZPvGsex' title=''><img src='http://i.imgur.com/ZPvGsex.jpg'...

    Can someone identify this wrench?

Hi, I found this wrench in a tool box that I bought. It looks like it might be a craftsman but it's not labeled. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks! <a href='http://i.imgur.com/WK9Fn0w' title=''><img src='http://i.imgur.com/WK9Fn0w.jpg' alt='' title='Hosted by imgur.com' /></a> <a...
