"6 coats of shellac" love it, I haven't got to that rabbit hole yet but will soon. How do you reach to the wall ? is the outfeed bench from the tablesaw in the way or is it just the pics make it look that way ? GB

Thanks Bret  Visited a friends mechanic workshop during last week and he guided me on fitting new glow plugs in the Hilux. I had suspected one wasn't quite working correctly so it was just as painless to replace them. Was very happy to find a clean and unclogged throttle body after...

Your MFT's look great. I think I understand how the tracksaw one works now that I've watched Guys video and gone back over your pics. So basically you can rip pretty much anything up to 29" wide and as long as needed if you add on in/out feed extensions hence overcoming some of the issues trying...

Bob, that was a timely (and funny) comment. My wife sat down last night before I read this post and proceeded to spill her glass of red a little. Luckily the couch didn't wear it :lol_hitti Hope you are going ok Shorty. All, since I've got plenty to do, while not add another project in ? My...

Sorry TB, I didn't answer this question. With the added turps, the BLO seems to dry very well and not leave any oily residue. They were on the lounge probably not much more than 12 hours after the last coat. Having said that the lounge needs stream cleaning anyway, why are kids so messy ? GB

Thanks Grizz ! Mat, thanks for looking at that. I started myself looking the other day and came across it at a toy memories site: https://rctoymemories.com/2014/06/08/taiyo-jet-hopper-1986/ I just looked again and you are right. In the last comments of the article... "All tyres are often...

Thanks Nick, the kaizen is a bit fiddly and time consuming to install but looks good in the end. I like that at a glance I can see what is missing from any particular draw. Getting closer to my saw cart builds, I've got some new dewalt blades inbound for the table and mitre saw, and I'll send...

Thanks Shorty, yes he enjoys building and tinkering. I can't be too hard on the cleanup tools when finished though as yet since I'm still unable to do that myself. :lol_hitti 1/8" is a good chunk off square for a factory unit. Can you drill out the rivets and adjust ? Tomorrow should see me...

Hi Chris, that should be a great little truck once cleaned up. Mine is similar vintage but diesel. Builder mate has that 2.7 in 2wd and one of dads mates has the same as what you just got just in green, from all accounts a good reliable beast. You'll probably find the front CV boots need doing...

My craft project today was making myself a long drywall square/rule gizmo with some left over aluminium tube and angle. It reminded me again that I need to get my cutoff saw rebuild finished so I can get square cuts without spending an age with the file and square. I think it turned out ok...

Hi Nick, I'm looking at that Makita plunge saw daily now. Hopefully will be starting my saw cart builds soon and will need to tear down several 8'x4' sheets, I even re-read your whole thread to look over your router table build and tablesaw sled adventures as well to refresh my memory. So I'll...

Grizz, random thought. You could knock up a dolly contraption of sorts for an end of that plank (not scooter wheels - something bigger diameter), then a harness/sling to go over shoulder etc assuming not too heavy at the other end. Leisurely 4k stroll home. Need to pressure wash my driveway...

lol I think it was clogged alright, how was it even still working ? Bird houses look great, what do they go for on etsy etc, maybe you can use that as a base reference for working out prices. GB
