    DIY Garage Stool

Glad to hear a backrest is in the works. I wouldn't keep it just because the mismatching grain between the backrest and the seat bottom would drive me nuts. Plus the high quality leather vs the vinyl isn't cool. Any why would you want the Vyper logo on YOUR custom made chair?

Insulated Garage door - do I need new springs?

Your spring is tensioned with about 30 quarter turns. Given how much over the recommended weight you are, I'd imagine you'll need to do several quarter turns. I would do a couple, then check if your door will stay halfway open. If not, do a couple more and repeat. Not sure how far you can go...

Insulated Garage door - do I need new springs?

Two metal rods is all you need to wind or unwind the torsion springs. It's not hard. Just make sure you're using the correct sized rods.

Insulated Garage door - do I need new springs?

From my research regarding this very topic, I found most garage door companies and installers saying if you add 10 pounds or more your springs need to be replaced.

    HF Quinn Digital Torque Wrench

You could cozy up to someone with a 3d printer and the necessary design skills to make one, or use tape as you suggested. Too bad the Gearwrench model they compare it to doesn't have the same style battery holder.

    Build a Pressure Washer?

Why did you opt for the timing belt setup and not V belt? As long as you can use a mirror to check the oil level, I wouldn't worry about moving the sight glass. The pump isn't going to use oil so really the sight glass will only be used during oil changes.

Grid tie solar. Did you make it thru the winter? Net metering

Our power company buys our excess production at the current rates and that money goes into a rollover bank. When we produce less power than we use, the power company pulls the money from the rollover bank to pay the electric bill. We’ve been in our home with solar for 7 years now. Last month...

If you find a nice corded one you like you could always replace the cord with a higher quality flexible one.

Pressure washer hose suggestion? Hose reel?

If you're wall mounting your hose reel, consider a swivel mount if your situation would benefit from one. My pressure washer is mounted on the back wall of my garage. To the left I have a man door leading to the north side of my house. With the swivel mount it is very easy to pull hose out...

Pressure washer hose suggestion? Hose reel?

Kobrajet hoses by MTM are the way to go. As suggested, go with 1 wire, not 2. I have two of these hose reels and they've been great. What I like about them is they are well built and they use a hose through the base as the connection. A lot of hose reels, especially the cheaper ones, do...
