I thought about doing the same thing but after my local shop said $100 to evacuate the system and recharge it when I'm done with repairs, seemed a no brainer.
I would try equalizing the battery first before rebuilding it. Plenty of YouTube videos showing how to do it. Literally it takes a few seconds and then you throw it on the charger. A lot of times those batteries won’t charge because one or more cells has dropped below the required voltage and so...
Keep an eye on local classifieds. Right now the same pressure washer I have, the $1600 one from Northern tool, is listed in my area on Facebook for $450. I know that doesn’t help you but it’s just an example that they are out there. I got mine off craigslist for $650 1.5 years ago.

This is the gun my Snap-on cabinet uses. Not sure if the newest cabinets still use it, but it's a nice gun. Uses a carbide nozzle.

That's about the going rate for a wall mount garden hose reel. Maybe look for a used one in the usual places. Check ReStore if you have one nearby. I've seen several of the plastic ones with two wheels for around $30 at mine.
Or coil it up and put a couple zip ties around it. Hang it on a...
