    Requesting some input/info

If it was me I would be looking at doing it in stages... IE pick your land & fiunance that & then pay it off.. Then you have the land as collateral to build a house (bare minimum of what you need so that its considered finished or build it with the footprint you need to be able to attach the...

Help me with Compressed air lines

I am getting ready to run lines in my 2 car garage as well. Well I will be just as soon as I settle on what I want. I am going overkill on outlets though. Going to have probably 4, but possibly 5 (one on each side of the garage door, one at my work bench, one for a reel by the garage door opener...

Fish tape for adding recessed lighting

The HF ones ****. I've owned a couple sets and they always fall apart. The fittings come off the glass and they don't line up well. The Klein ones are very good though. Ultimately for 1 job I would buy the HF ones and hope they survived.

    Bonus room under garage

with 54" between the beams your lights are approx 27" from the beams (a little less in reality, but keeping the math simple) so with 6" vertical jump 27" away the shadow cast by each beam should be limited to about 2" below the beams (since you'll have another light coming from the other side)...

    Bonus room under garage

With only 7'2" to the bottom of the beams I would add more lighting fixtures before I would add below the beams as well.

    Re: Shed Plans.

Re: Shed Plans. I was looking into this last night.. I have the tools and can make my own truss's, but after looking at the 2x4 basics kits I will go that way. Those kits look to be pretty damn slick.

    Bonus room under garage

Timing it shouldn't be too hard. Any type of a blade with an edge should do it. Even maybe make one out of some flat stock aluminum and a grinder to get it wide enough to make it easy. As for lights check out the t5 LED lights on Amazon that Daisy chain together. They weigh almost nothing...

Replacing T8 Flourecents with LED Question

It may be easier to dump the fixtures all together. I used what looks at first glance like traditional florescent lights in my garage. But were actually these handy 4' LED light bar things that daisy chain. Thats 2 pack's of the linked lights & about 2 hours of install (most of which was...

Anyone in the US ordered from cover tech?

Go to IRS.gov & register a business & give them your new Tax ID. https://formingyourbusiness.com/our-services/apply-sole-proprietor/ I am not positive, but I believe you get it back very quickly. I wouldnt want to give out my SSN either. If you already have a EIN though then I would give them...

    Bonus room under garage

A lot of that foam gets a hard surface to it when it dries.. If thats the case & its relatively uniform I would just paint it. You could also trim the foam until it is relatively flat then paint it & it would look like a textured ceiling.

ASTRO GIVEAWAY - 3 FREE Hand Rivet Nuts Tool Kits & New Flank-Bite Sets

I cant find it online, but Dewalt has a little magnetic sleeve that fits loosely around their impact bits that holds screws in place. I have used other screw holders, but nothing has ever worked so well. Especially for awkward locations as it holds the screw straight into the bit so its not...

My First Big Compressor -Craigslist Find-

I got the actual drawing from Solberg today.. Did a quick measurement & it looks like it'll fit fine. Edit: I went ahead & ordered the adapter & the FS-14-050 6" filter. I hate paying 15 bucks for ground shipping on what will be maybe a pound, but I guess it is what it is..

Is 7.5hp Single Phase a bad idea?

But when your doing hundreds a day it adds up quick. It was for Conventions where everything is temporary & gets redone weekly if not more.. I always thought those connections were just so that the plug's didnt come undone.

    Compressor Dilemma

I really wanted that Puma 40 gallon... Spent months drooling over it & laughing at the cost of everything on craigslist.. Then the night before I was going to order it I came across 6hp 60 gallon 2 stage for 800 & sent a quick message offering 500.. 20 minutes later I was loading it on my...

Is 7.5hp Single Phase a bad idea?

And if anyone other then me is trying to unplug my air compressor then they are probably robbing my garage & I hope they do get shocked.. Of note I had never even heard of a Pin & Sleeve connector.. Had to google it & it turns out that I have used them 10's of thousands of times. Very common...

Is 7.5hp Single Phase a bad idea?

Well the code commandos can point out whatever they want. Doesn't change the fact that it's a 24a motor on a 50a plug and the point of code is safety and with as oversized as I made the plug and all the wiring back to the main panel I am in no danger at all of any of it melting and passing a...

Is 7.5hp Single Phase a bad idea?

I think what was said about properly sizing the wires is the ticket.. I have #6 ran in conduit for my 6hp compressor (all of like an 8 foot run from the breaker to the outlet where I used a 50a plug so I can move the compressor if needed without messing with the wiring). Complete overkill, but I...
