no clue where you live (doesn't state in left column by your icon) but snow dumping off that slope onto a lean-to will, IMO, surely collapse it.

so where has this landed? IMO time to call in a pro and get some input on an appropriate fix, at least get some input/bids. 8" slab....cannot be cheap. EDIT - I didn't see the latter posts on page 2 of the thread. Looks far better now.

Have run across many ideas, Merrell trail shoes w Vibram TC5+ sole has popped up though I looked at some and they fit funny. Would have been nice as then the shoe could be worn elsewhere and not just on a steel roof. In reading further, Vans are a sound idea to look into.

The steel on the roof of my polebarn is slipperier then heck even when dry. Maybe you've experienced this. Old steel not as much an issue due to weathering, but new steel is slick. What footwear do you wear to not slip and fall? Preferably something easy to find and won't break the bank...
