    Well Pressure Tank Install Questions

There was a thread on here where a guy answered tons of well related questions, but I can't find it... If anyone has a link it would be appreciated. The pressure tank for my well is dead, you can watch the pressure go up and down at the faucet, the pump has to run on and off constantly and when...

Door Mats/Sticky Mats - Keeping the house clean

I'm all about painting the floors, but with a pregnant wife it aint going to happen anytime soon. Need something short term for the next few months. I will look at the commercial mats. Taking shoes off works for some stuff but here recently I don't get to just go down there and work. I'm...

Door Mats/Sticky Mats - Keeping the house clean

I have 2 shop areas, a garage and a basement shop. Seems that the wife is starting to notice how much stuff is getting tracked up from the basement shop. Adding the mill probably is what did it, now she reports finding metal cuttings in the bedroom carpet :o The basement is completely...

    Replicating Old Moulding

CNC makes so many things possible. Kinda makes you wonder how the originals were made. Not something that you could get a cutter made and shoot through a machine

Best way to cut square and level wood rounds?

I did a ton of these for my wedding, with smaller diameters and longer pieces where off square would really show. Did them all by hand with a sawzall for the smaller ones and chainsaw for the bigger ones. Plenty of them turned out more than square enough. Biggest things I found were to clamp...

    Bandsaw question

It's doable with some jack shafts and pulleys. Good thing is there is usually plenty of room under the saw to move the motor around Also check the motor RPMs, lots of things come with 3450RPM motors, swapping to a 1725RPM motor gives you an instant reduction.

    internet in your shop?

I wouldn't pull anything but LC anymore, much easier and cheaper to find GBICs. Unless you are running some serious loads a 5ghz ubnt setup will do anything you need. I have dumped sip phones on the end of bridge with no issues.

    $120 Mill DRO

Planning on doing this very soon to my new mill. Just curious why you did the arduino over the MSP430? The 430 looks like it can support more stuff for the same money and less soldering

Updated- Ultimate Welding Table (for me).

I am about to convert mine to the slat style. Did you jig up the welded bolts on the slats or just mark and eyeball?

    Plasma Cutter

I have a TD Cutmaster 38 that I have used for years. Works fine, consumable cost a little more than I like but you can save money if you shop around. Never had it do anything unexpected. Now, if I bought again I would probably go with Hypertherm. Cheaper consumables and really good support.

    Builder recommendation, Atlanta GA area

I know of a good barn builder around Ball Ground, not sure if he does garages but he used to do houses. In that area I would do careful research on what you can have and get a general plan before you talk to anyone. There isn't much of Cobb county left that isn't under some kind of building...

    Weld sputtering and smoking?

Make sure where the gun connects to the machine is seated right. My 175 will move slightly if you pull on the lead, then the welds go to ****. an Oring ends up where the gas should flow

Need help finding some chrome moly tubing.

Go to Ryerson's website, they have a stock list that is very complete. It will at least give you an idea if it's available. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

    Mag drill

Too thin for a mag drill as others have said. If I was doing several I would use a plasma cutter and circle jig. Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

    Fire Extinguisher recommendations

Get an ABC Dry chem and a water/foam unit. Use the water unit first unless its electrical or gasoline fire since you can refill it and the mess is not gigantic. CO2 is also nice for the electrical/oil fires but they are more expensive at first. Pretty cheap to fill
