Getting out of the locksmith hobby. Need to find a home for this stuff. Shipping not included, many items are heavy, let me know what you want and where it's going and I will give you a price. Drop prices?

At least they are discounted. One of our local places charges full price for the measurements even though you found it on the scrap rack and they didnt have to cut it (they don't charge a cut fee though)

    Shelfless shelves

What mean is, build a shelf frame but don't top it with plywood. Anyone done it? I currently have pallet racking, that was great when I stored mostly old engine blocks and axles, but that has cleared out for parts bins and household storage iny basement. Now stuff is stacked 3 deep and I know...

    Tooling organization

Basically that plastic smell that most HF tools come with or a brand new bag of rubber fishing lures. I think its the plastic outgassing and sitting in a delivery truck and then the store closed up makes it build up. The plastic is thicker and more foam like. Think Pelican case instead of the...

    Tooling organization

I've been learning the value of "kits" for working on the house and barn. Much easier when you can just grab 1-2 boxes than 10 different things. You do end up needing a few more tools but its usually stuff you have in the spares bin Don't have systainer money so I've been trying the Ridgid Pro...

    Combine 2 existing 110v circuits for 110/220?

Perfect. Just need to pick up a double breaker, unless I have one in the spares box. Now I just have to figure out everything I need to wire the vfd, but that will wait till the lathe gets here

    Combine 2 existing 110v circuits for 110/220?

Just bought a lathe that looks like it will require a 1-2 hp 220 VFD. The breaker panel in the shop is full, but not over capacity as I tend to only use one device at a time, plus a few residuals. I have 2 options I can think of to get power to it 1. Tap into existing overhead run to table saw...

How to spray HF Truck bed liner?

I did the tub of my jeep and back of the surburban with roll on. For interior it was probably the way to go, masking would have been a pita. When my buddy wanted to do his truck it was a bare frame/cab so we got an undercoating gun and sprayed it. Spraying was faster and got a very even finish...

    Teardrop trailer build

I've looked at building them several times, probably with a bit more suspension and tires to go behind the Jeep. The wife isn't interested in camping in one at all, so probably not going to happen. Watch out for those TNTTT folks. Some really good information there but like most groups there...

Costco: Keter 22" Cantilever Tool Box $19.99

I used one of these for RC cars. really nice since you could get to the inside and bins at the same time, plus with the top closed it gave you an elevated work stand.

Opinions on newbie weld on Chevy S-10 crossmember

I have a Miller 175, I run .030 wire 90% of the time. I only switch to .023 when I am doing some thin sheet metal (and only when its a lot of it) and only use .035 for flux core. Take more time on the fitup, run the bead as one long weld (unless you are getting warping). Check the machine...

    Argon and MIG ?

I've run quite a bit of mig on straight argon. It is less penetration but not amazingly less. Turn the heat up a little and wire speed down to compensate. Most of the people who freak out have never tried it and go off what some instructor told them.

Shared line for welder and compressor with local breaker?

I don't like having a welder and compressor on the same circuit. Both are devices with a decent inrush current and despite you saying that you wont use the two at the same time all it takes is a small leak and the compressor is starting even if you didn't use it. If you are welding at the same...

Our local ace had Clark and Kensington (valspar) buy 2 get one free for memorial day. We've had really good luck with it picked more up for the kitchen and hallway Sent from my D6708 using Tapatalk

    PEX vs. CPVC

There are CPVC to NPT and PEX to NPT adapters that let you couple the two. I have CPVC and am ripping it out slowly to go to PEX. CPVC seems like a time bomb that has already gotten me a couple times. When something breaks it and everything down the line gets upgraded.

    Portable GMAW system

Yeah, the miller passport was a suitcase style that had an internal co2 tank, assuming it was a paintball tank. Kobalt makes a co2 reg setup for running a nail gun off a paint all tank. Regulates psi but you could probably make it work. Real advantage of co2 is that it is stored as a liquid...

Reconditioned trim compressor at Bigsky tools

Big Sky is local to me so I've used them a couple times. The recon stuff is clearly used, but no abused and everything has functioned right out of the box. If you select store pickup they sometimes also mail you the item... I have a couple doubles. Not sure if it's on the website but they had...

    Welding Table Retrofit

I did the slat top after shopping for a decent chunk of steel for a couple years. I have a connection for some decent pricing on tube and bar stock and was able to get the top for under $100, even have about 1.5ft left. Bolts were all from bolt depot, I wish they had plain or black oxide finish...
