I have used the quirky Engineer Neji Saurus pliers for smaller clips PZ-58

What pliers does everyone use for connecting side plate connecting links?

Like E-Clips? I've had good success with screw-extractor style pliers since they match the clip & pin curves a bit better. Removal is just a sturdy pick or one of those little promotional flathead screwdrivers for small ones.

Usually best to just buy another once you get there. Good quality for good prices. We grabbed our at the Don Quixote Mega Store. That place is...insane. Hotels & Kombinis also offer forwarding services for your luggage to your next destination.

Anyone built a hitch load extender

Perhaps add a hitch tensioner? The sway at that length could be something to consider.

    Tools of Japan

*piqued* :) few doodads recently acquired: T20 was totally rationalized for a difficult-to-reach fastener on my notoriously leaky DeWalt 20V chainsaw. After handling both, I decided the regular bent-nose Tsunoda suited me more than the high-leverage model. Silky, cuz...Silky! My 30+ yr. old...
