    Try making a "tail" with the heat shrink tubing. Tuck it into the end before heating and it caps it pretty well.

    Screwdrivers & pliers seem like the perfect disposable items to just buy at your destination. Fun story: Flew out of Logan Airport on Sept. 1st, 2001 with a 3.5" folding knife in my carry-on. They said that blade size was ok. Probably one of the last few passengers to be able to do so legally...

    Indeed, but my Tekton 1/2" Long Cold Chisel seems pretty soft. I don't expect miracle steel, but it dulled very quickly.
