I spoke with a Rep from Baldor earlier today, she is going to get back to me by tomorrow.
I found plenty of grey paint, but the grinder and stand is more of a bluish-grey.
Here is what the mounting plate looks like now, shows why I want to paint it.
Does anyone happen to know if Baldor sells matching touch-up or spray paint for their products? I scoured their website with no luck then sent them an email. Expecting a reply maybe Monday.

After doing a bit more research I decided to give the Coilhose Megaflow couplings and connectors a try and I must say that so far I am quite impressed. They seal very tight (I have yet to hear a hiss), are easy to connect and disconnect, and the ball-swivels are awesome. I am not one who raves...
So if I want to just get the layered gunk off the outside of a fairly nice vise while keeping the original paint in as good of condition as possible, it sounds like Simple Green is not a good choice.
