    Acetone or Methyl Hydrate

Thanks Paul. You are always very helpful. Good suggestions. I will probably use amonia or acetone or even paint thinner should work Perhaps. Like you mentioned, I could always let it dry and then scrape it of.

    Acetone or Methyl Hydrate

I am putting down multiple coats of epoxy/topcoat. I was hoping to reuse the buckets. mixer, squeegees and measuring jugs. I could buy more buckets but still need something to clean the squeegee. Of course, rollers are for one-time use.

    Acetone or Methyl Hydrate

I am not able to get Xylene for my epoxy job here in Canada. None of the stores seem to carry Xylene. I looked around every where without luck. So my question is - Can I instead use Acetone or Methyl Hydrate for cleaning the tools or not? Which one of the two - Acetone or Methyl Hydrate is a...

You will need 3 moisture vapor emission test kits plus a weighing scale to do the moisture test. Google or search this forum on how to do it. You could buy the test kits from this online vendor for cheap. http://www.vaportest.com/Webpages/VaprecisionHomePage.htm Your options are going to be...

    Removing epoxy from driveway

Since most epoxies are intolerant to moisture and can not sustain constantly wet environment, why not use this to your advantage? I would just keep a wet cloth over it constantly for a few weeks/ months and see if that would cause the epoxy to peel away or loose its grip. My reasoning is...

Speading epoxy using squeegee only - No roller, any issues?

Paul, I like the idea of using sand. The only problem is knowing precisely where the low areas are. The trouble is the puddle spots are only visible when the floor is freshly washed and there is water collected in low spots making those puddles apparent. I dread to think if guessed incorrectly...

Speading epoxy using squeegee only - No roller, any issues?

Thanks Paul! Glad you told me that. I almost made up my mind to use only a squeegee. Incidentally, I am planning to put down multiple coats so this would probably work out as you say. Will post pictures when done. Thanks again!

Speading epoxy using squeegee only - No roller, any issues?

Question from a newbee - My garage floor that I am try to put epoxy on is very uneven and not exactly flat. When I wash the garage floor, there are several very shallow puddles on the floor. No amount of grinding could make it level enough to avoid puddles. My question is - If I do not roll...

mysterious stains on concrete that won't go away

Edger, interesting theory. However, there is no way there would that much oil everywhere. I am sorry I neglected to mention that I had washed my floor just a few hours before taking the pictures and so you see the concrete is slightly darker everywhere except those mysterious spots. The reason I...

mysterious stains on concrete that won't go away

Paul, I thought you could use oil stop primer only on the oil contamination though I may be wrong. I don't think these spots are caused by oil contamination. Maybe Alpha Garage (Fred), Scotty or Shea can provide an opinion/ suggestions here. Thank you guys in advance.

mysterious stains on concrete that won't go away

Kevin, that is very reassuring. :) I have done everything I could. I ground down at least 1/5th of an inch, perhaps more. Like I said I am not even sure if I would call them stains. The concrete in those spots is so clean and free of dirt/contamination that you could actually see the pores...
