Yeah they had a run with Harley's for a while too. That also didn't last long... I like FlowMasters (Cages) and Thunderheaders (Harleys).

    Why 8-10, 9-11, 12-14, 13-15 Splits Instead of 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, etc?

Is it a good idea to periodically grease rack and pinion?

When I have something that requires moly grease I like to use Honda Moly 60. Apparently that has been discontinued, and M77 is the replacement but the % of moly varies... I guess I need to get stingy with what I have left!

    Machining a vintage bronze bushing! (!?) 1/2 x 3/4 x 15/16 x 1 x 1/4

frictionless bearings work best with lubrication. Brown and Sharpe used them in the headstock of their surface grinders (long time ago) and go a lot of service life and precision. carbide tipped lathe cutting bit replacements?

Junk in, junk out. Learn with the stuff you have, and when you feel comfortable with operating the machine and creating parts, get quality tooling and you will feel the difference. I recommend the AR Warner HSS stuff for aluminum with tap magic aluminun cutting fluid...

carbide tipped lathe cutting bit replacements?

Once you figure out what you need, buy tooling from reputable companies. I wouldn't trust no-name chinese stuff. What did you pay for that set?
