    Favorite ratchet and why

The Snapon F80. Just used it the other day to get into a tight spot in the engine compartment and the fine tooth design enables me to actually turn the nut with hardly any room to work. IMO, there's no reason to fool with any other ratchet when it comes to fixing stuff.

    Snapon Ratchets on Sale

I see that the F80 along with a few others are on sale on Snapon's site. I'm hoping this means they are clearing out the old stock to make way for the new USA branded stuff.

    100$ sears gift card

Best idea yet. I cringe even walking into Sears anymore.

    Snap On is cheating us?

I see you are a snapon dealer? Can you sell new tools to us via this site? Does that violate some franchisee agreement?

Wilton Vice Archaeology - Any Ideas?

Definitely not going to sell this one. I have been looking for a good Wilton for a while and this one fills the void. Satisfies my wants and has a bit of history with it too. Best of all worlds. Plus, I got it for $15 which kind of makes me think it was meant to be.

Wilton Vice Archaeology - Any Ideas?

I cruised that Wilton history thread and saw similar vises but nothing exactly the same. Wondered if there wasn't any more information out there.

Wilton Vice Archaeology - Any Ideas?

Hi all, I found an old Wilton vise today and thought you might like to see it since there are so many discussions about these great vises. I'm curious if any of you can date this thing. You'll notice it doesn't say "Chicago" on the side nor does it say "Schiller Park". Here's the interesting...

    Baldor 1/4HP Grinder

Granted, you didn't ask for opinions on the paint but I'd leave it alone. It has that classic tool look and painting it won't make it work any better or make it any more valuable.....but, it's your grinder so it's up to you.

    Snap On Truck Prices?

If only Snapon would offer their stuff in a retail store somewhere and expand beyond this whole franchisee model.......oh, the possibilities.....and oh, my wallet.

    Vice on Craigslist

I also think that's a fair offer and shouldn't insult the seller. People sometimes think their stuff is made of gold but that's not reality.

    Ratcheting Screwdrivers....gimmicky?

Funny. I get the irony. It's just that I've never owned one and didn't know if there was some outstanding benefit to using one vs. the old standby.

    Ratcheting Screwdrivers....gimmicky?

What's the general consensus on ratcheting screwdrivers? I have been wanting to treat myself to a new tool purchase and I think I may go the screwdriver route. I don't argue Snapon quality but are their ratcheting screwdrivers kind of a solution looking for a problem? Am I missing out on not...

I see a new made in USA stamped quick release ratchet in my future......

Snap on Announced USA stamp coming back on ratchets

I was one of the vocal people who contacted Snapon with my thoughts on them removing the made in USA stamp. I was told it was a marketing decision but being a marketing professional myself I saw it as a bonehead move and told them so. They finally wised up and listened to their customers. I...

The snap-on toolbox truck just left

Granted, a snapon dealer has to make a living, but my gut tells me those boxes are marked up at least 100%. Even at 20% off, they are probably still making a killing. That being said, I'd like to have a royal blue one.

Anyone bought a new SK set of sockets lately?

I have a new 3/8 SK ratchet that is beautiful so I know that they can put out good stuff. Problem is I also have a new 1/2 ratchet that looks like the knurling was not engraved evenly. In parts, it hardly has any knurling at all. Once again, it's all about consistency.

Anyone bought a new SK set of sockets lately?

The most frustrating thing is that SK is another American company that will squander an opportunity. As Craftsman continues to push its stuff overseas SK could swoop in, capitalize on its legacy and quickly fill the void. If they could get their quality control issues figured out (which seems...

Anyone bought a new SK set of sockets lately?

I have a toolbox full of craftsman stuff and it has served it's purpose but I like to branch out sometimes. The chrome on SK tools often rivals Snapon and I would like to invest in some of their offerings but I haven't seen much of the new production stuff lately.

Anyone bought a new SK set of sockets lately?

I know that some time ago SK set up a new manufacturing location and I wondered what level of quality they are putting out now? I ask because I was recently in a local retail store that happens to carry SK tools and the selections I saw looked pretty mediocre. I'm talking sockets with...
