    Improving a two-car Swiss garage...

Wow that is a great space. That size is not the norm for Switzerland. I lived there for two years traveling by public transit. I spent a lot of time walking and peering into people's garages. Most people in the USA, Switzerland and most likely the rest of the world don't care about the...

    Need some compressor help..

That might be too big. I have a 1955 Quincy 325 that I have turned up to about 18 cfm. It is for my hobby garage, but I do a lot of painting and auto body work. Here is the problem. I have a 100 gallon tank. There are numerous times I feel that is too big. If I need to run an air tool for...

    Alfa haven

Welcome to the board. I am very jealous that you still have Alfas over there. My first vehicle was a 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider. It is the car that I learned to wrench on. Oh how I miss that car. I learned a lot from it.

    snap on hand cleaner

I'm with Kevin. Good old Boraxo is what I use. Easier on the hand and if I missed a spot after rinsing, I can always use more powder. A lot of hand cleaners don't work as well if your hands are already wet.

Electrician finished up yesterday. Haven't had a chance to ask him about the wiring, but all of you make it sound like it should be okay. I have read so many threads around here on compressor wiring I started to get confused. Thanks for the help!

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Jack, Love the garage. I've read the whole thing. I've been lurking for a while and usually check on your thread. The biggest downfall of your garage that I can see is mine no longer suffices. I was okay with a messy dimly lit space before garagejournal and your thread. Now I have a cleaner...

    Electrician came today

The motor that I have is rated at 5 hp according to Baldor's website. So what I'm hearing is that I need to have the breaker only switched out to 30A. Is that right or should he have used larger wire too? I haven't paid the guy yet. Since, I kinda know the guy from work, he said that we...

    Electrician came today

First time posting, very long time lurker. So the electrician came to my house today to do some garage wiring. Based on what I have read here, I'm wondering if he did things correctly. I had him add more outlets in the garage and wire a 50a out for my welder and run wire for my compressor...
