Moving to Utah Salt Lake Area Need RV Storage

I don't have anything useful to ad besides welcome to the area. When I moved here 15 years ago I wasn't sure about the decision. Now I love it. If you need any other suggestions let me know.

So what do you wear when working on cars

Old long sleeve dress shirts. Since I have the to wear them at work I have a supply. When I blow out an elbow or wear out the collar they become garage shirts. When they get too dirty I toss them. I pick the cleanliness of the shirt I’m going to wear based on the job that I’ll be doing. When...

I knew that something was up when I saw multiple post from Ryan in Free Parking. I thought his account had been hacked. I’m glad everything is okay.

How many here regularly earn money (income) in their HOME garage?

I don't do any income producing work in my home shop. I used to do a lot of work for family, friends, friends of family or friends. I never charged, but they kept leaving gifts of cash on my tool box or other places around the property. People are so generous. No idea how they got the idea...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

I managed to find myself a block grinder yesterday. I was wondering through an estate sale and found this one sitting there waiting for me to take it home. From what I can see it looks like it has been hardly used. From what I can tell it is a 397 model from about 1978. I need to get a...

Need info on what to use for on/off switch for 5HP compressor

I also did a nice light switch on the trigger wire from the pressure switch. Works great. Compressor outside light style switch in the garage. The switch inside doesn't replace the disconnect by the compressor either by plug or the switch mentioned above. It is just easy to use and mount where...

Considering purchasing a house with a 'tiny' 3 car garage. Is this even a thing?

I have a similar sized three car. 27x22. I manage just fine. Not a ton of room to work on the cars once in there but I manage. I have one double door and one single. Some how I get three cars in there work benches, tool boxes, and a little bit of yard equipment. Btw you know we need pictures.

Basic entry level SCFM requirements, Body work

A screw one would be wonderful but spend some of that money elsewhere if possible ie air drier or other toys. I have an old quincy 325 that I love. As much air as I could ever need. Did I need a 100 gal tank? No but that is what I could find used and reasonably priced. Everyone thought I was...

Btw. I have had similar problems with the same gun painting a car and solved the problem by cleaning it after some Internet research. After cleaning problem significantly was decreased.

    Fish eye? Clear coating issues

Did you disassemble and clean the purple gun before use? They are known for having a silicone caulk behind the air cap. Take it fully apart and clean it with solvent. It should help fix the problem if the rest of the prep is done correctly.

    HF HVLP paint gun

I have used them to paint cars and furniture. With the 1.4 tip you will really need to thin latex. Oil based tends to respond better.

    Worth a restore?

Hard to tell. Depends on why it is locked up. I would probably offer the guy scrap value. If he is willing to take it to the scrapper he might be willing to sell it to you for that. If it doesn't work out you could always scrap it.
