Tend to agree Dave. Steadfast, I think, made early Britool and perhaps Gordon drivers. Mid 80's I acquired a joblot of new Steadfast from somebody from the Stanley works. Do not know how that came about. Sold the lot in minutes to my workmates. Also Stead drivers. Same company ??? always with...

Bedford tools price list. SJ from being bought out by Spear & Jackson, saw makers. Not so keen on the sockets then. Very good chrome finish but seen many cracked. Britool, King **** much better. Bedford did make Halfords tools. Bedford ratchets ( some) may have been made by HAND TOOLS-...

Tool to remove wheel bearing dust caps

Would a trim tool such as this do? More edge than a screwdriver, should get it moving. My 70's/80's Stanley comes in handy

    Show us your shop stool

Found this clearing out Uncle's shed, now in our garage. Appears to be, or is an unashamed copy of, an Arne Jacobsen dot stool from 1960's. In a bit of a state but still serving a purpose.

Couldn't resist this Facom box today. Some rust and maybe a couple of rivets missing. Catches need attention. Think it's quite old.

    Garringtons tools (made in england)

Might still have a Gordon screwdriver although I suspect they may have been made by Steadfast or even the Stanley works in Sheffield. Amber handles very similar. Other items obviously out sourced, hacksaw maybe Eclipse, pliers SSP or TW. I have a Gordon No. 2014 ratchet and the odd spanner, sold...

The list of tools that go with it. Looks like you have some flat ring spanners. Not come across any from Gordon before.

My Small But Growing 1/4" drive Socket Set Collection

It may be 9/32inch which is 7.14mm. British and U.S firms made these drive sets during WW2 up to the 1950's. Do any of the pieces have a arrow marking? This was military/war department property.

    Uncluttered, spotless garage, sick people

Moved in ten years ago. Approximately 30ft x 8ft, also has tall freezer, washing m/c, tumble dryer shelves of canned goods. Although I managed to sell 2 pushbikes, 2 pushbikes sit gathering dust along with junk from deceased in-laws, every box from deliveries - " you might use these" and...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

I believe Tipco ceased trading around then just before I started work. Someone I see from time to time cleared out the warehouse of a sales agent for Tipco and others. Stuff he has or had is incredible. Has lots of the original advertising and reps catalogues, must be 1950's 60's. Must have made...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Seen a few 9/32" bits and pieces on my travels, always one plug/square crudely filed to fit 1/4". Had Athol, Britool, King **** Tipco. All military /|\ except this King **** Ratchet. Terrific condition, alloy body. One bloke had a bucket full of these Tipco 9/32" extender bars.
