To most people it wouldn't matter I guess ! But you mention that your vice was originally red/brown so FWIW, it is "original" paint.

Thats interesting , and I'm not saying you are wrong but every single "50s" and "60s" vice I've ever seen (apart from this thread ) has been red, including someone I know who bought his new in the 1960's. I've never found any blue paint under the red paint when stripping off the old paint on...

More information ? Who are you ordering from ?? I've ordered stuff from the States going back 25 years, never , ever paid anywhere near that much for shipping. DO NOT ship by sea , they will charge you $500 just for looking at your invoice when item arrives.
