    Thoughts on some offbrand tools

I'm a fan of tekton for my cheap stuff. I bought their sae angle wrench set and use the hell out of them. I don't trust them tho, I keep track of what my knuckles ate aimed at before putting any beef on them.

    needed tool list for dealer?

Any work is better than no work. I have a buddy who cant get a decent job because he sat idle and worthless for a few years. Jobs are stepping stones until you find a place you like and turn it into a career. A&P mechanics who want to go the airline route always start for a regional carrier...

Tool Gloat: SnapOn portable mechanics set (image heavy)

worked out of a similar set up for a few years in the air force on f-117's. The newer pelican case with wheels was a welcome upgrade from lugging one of those around lol but I wouldn't have passed it up. If I were more mobile I would be using a very similar setup. Tool foam is the best

anyone have a snap on classis 96?

Guess what fell off the back of the truck today lol. Upgraded from my kra 2422 to a krl 1022 picture pretty much says it all. The kra is a great little box but I filled it. Rather than spend 800 for a sidebox, I traded up and into the krl for close to the same money :headscrat The krl is...

    Let's see your toolbox.

not my favorite color but the price was right and my kra was full. Crazy how much more room this toolbox has. I have empty drawers, which is more than likely bad for my wallet lol. Carbon guards are on the way, that should break up the color a bit.

    Best Pneumatic Drill?

The snap on sioux's also have less runout (terminology) and make cleaner holes in thinner materials. I buy snap on for 3/8 and 1/2 air drills. You won't buy another. My 1/4 fast drill for aluminum is a sioux. All of them made in usa and get abused a few times daily. I tried cheaper drills...

    Good lower price air saw

The snap on air saw is notavailable from Sioux directly, so idk if it is or isn't. The Sioux air drill is eerily similar to the blue point, although the blue point saw has a coo of China.

    Good lower price air saw

No, but the snap on one is not listed on the website. It says kenosha wi on the tool so i believe it is made in USA. It's a beast, use it nearly everyday, baas had hadhis forover a year with high freq uses.

anyone have a snap on classis 96?

Talk to a driver. Asking on here will only get you opinions. No snap on branded roll cabs are riveted. My kra is welded. The slides are better than hf and the overall stability of the box is better. The drawer slides are different sizes than the krl so I highly doubt interchangability, cost...

    Scrap value of a welder?

Prior to reading this i would have passed up a linde, probably still will... Im a pro mechanic and the only recommend welder beans are miller, Lincoln and Hobart. And I'm much more onto tools and equipment than the average weekend warrior, let alone sometime just looking for a welder on craigslist

    Need a new cordless drill

Looking at getting a new cordless. Gotta be compact (battery in the handle, no bulky battery packs) So I guess I'm looking for stick(?) batteries. I have a craftsman 12v which was fine until I put my new snap on drill bits in it that have enough bite to slip in the chuck. I've had it happen...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Lovin the koolaid, I have a high rpm sioux palm drill that is my daily beater for sheetmetal, but it is a waste of air and time on steel and other hard metals I've been running into on all these home builts that have been coming into the shop. This drill is an absolute animal smooth, slow, and...

Who designs and forms Snap On tools?

Ergo testing involves a lot of folks with degrees and extensive studies in a lab. The designs are taken through control groups of expanding sizes as the design gets refined. I do quite a bit of testing for a test equipment company so im near the last teir of developement. They generally have...

    Gearwrench ratchet drivers

The GW ratcheting drivers are nice enough to keep me from even picking up a snap on one on the truck. I got a set with tons of extensions and 2 handles off of cripe for less than 20. The flex extension is awesome.
