we all knew it eventually had to happen to Craftsman...

I'll take that it makes a lot of sense, but considering I have no idea what the hell any of that financial stuff meant, I have no clue. Dumbbells like me will just have to take it at face value.

we all knew it eventually had to happen to Craftsman...

Agreed. 'We' are too much a niche group, and that's not gonna please the bean-counters who are worrying about their investors. I could see Craftsman even becoming a cheaper tool company, both in quality and price. The pipe dream is what has already been mentioned here - putting Craftsman back...

HF parking lot sale tool box price.

There is/was a coupon/ad now that shows the top box at $259. I checked last years Black Friday sale prices listed online and the pricing is almost identical to many items now featured currently in the Parking Lot Sale.

HF parking lot sale tool box price.

Thursday I bought a HF44 for $348 and the 7-drawer end cabinet for $190. Couldn't be happier. I signed up last week for Inside Track, so bought my stuff a day ahead of the Parking Lot Sale. I did the $30 Inside Track at the store, and they gave me $10 off my purchase (supposed to be online only...

Socket extension THICKNESS (thick one thin shaft)

I was surprised to hear of the thicker SO extensions. (I only have a few SO tools). You could be right, but in manufacturing (my trade) you're always looking to cut costs, and that certainly includes material costs and material treating. Have all top-tier toolmakers gone to the thicker...

Socket extension THICKNESS (thick one thin shaft)

I have a spattering of -v- extensions in 3/8 and 1/4 drives. Old Proto for 1/2 drives. All the others are fatboys. I'm in the process of revamping my home garage, so will replace the fatboys with some good used -v-'s.

Socket extension THICKNESS (thick one thin shaft)

I think the start of the thicker extensions was a reflection of cheaper grade steel China, etc was using to make sockets, ratchets, etc. All my earlier (1970's and earlier) Craftsman, Proto, etc. extensions were thinner and I torqued the **** out of them without ever breaking one. Fast-forward...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Another +1 for the HF44 box. Tonight just bought the HF44 box for $348 and the 7 drawer end cabinet for $190. Only hiccup was enlarging the 2 end cabinet mounting holes so I could get the fronts of each cabinet to align perfectly. Extremely pleased with all aspects for fit/finish/function of...

    newbie from northern CA

What a nice forum this is......became interested when researching toolboxes. The drawer slides on my 25 year old Craftsman top/bottom boxes are now a pain, although everything else is holding up very well. Long story short, you guys/gals piqued my interest in the Harbor Freight 44 and 56 boxes...
