Can't get the sorry *** Snap-on guy to stop at our shop!!

If you can't get him there and have to mail in, sort of defeats the purpose of a tool truck. Sounds like you need to talk to either another truck companyor buy 3 sets of Cman and run broken stuff or buy items once a week.

    Tool Box for the Road

I have a 61 Studebaker that is on the back burner for now to to life priorities (Paying off debt, children, bad economy, etc,) so I decided to build a tool box for the car. I want to buy all old quality used tools to assemble a set. I tend to overpack so and suggestions would be great.

    Fluke 77 Repair

Just so you know, the Navy told us to pitch them because of the Decom process. Said it cost more to transfer them somewhere than to buy new. Most of us borrowed them long term.

    Fluke 77 Repair

I have a Fluke 77 that was "liberated" from my decommissioning ship when I was in the Navy about a decade ago and the display is going out. Where can I send it to be repaired?

    Kobalt, Craftsman, and/on Snap-on?

My question is if you are a hobbyist, Cman, Kobalt, will work great. I cannot justify the cost of Snap on since I don't use them for work. If I break a socket(and I have), I have time to go get a new one. I have mostly Cman with some Snap on, Armstrong, Proto, from when I worked for a living...

    Jack for the Car

Great information. Have you ever thought of doing a post on jack maintenance and repair? I am honestly always a bit shaky with jacks and that would be a great post from a safety and repair standpoint.

    Jack for the Car

I have used a few factory jacks and this is the worst one yet. Why should one not trust a bottle jack or a floor jack in the trunk. This factory jack for a 2005 Caravan proved to be ****. I plan on getting better tire chocks, keeping the factory jack as a stability point, and the bottle to...

    Jack for the Car

Wife and I got a flat last night, jacked the van up with the factory jack, where it decided to bend and not get the van up high enough to change the tire. Ended up calling my Dad, who lives close and is a mechanic, brought a 4 way and a floor jack, and on the way we go. What do you guys carry...

First time post here but have been lurking for at least a year. I'm doing a rebuild on a Studebaker and want to measure everything out before I see if it needs togo to a machine shop. Any recommendations on a good value of micrometers, calipers, etc. Also, what is the opinion on Kobalt tools...
