Can you be more specific … you cannot be referring to mainline mechanics tools? Are you talking about specialty tools? Which ones in particular?

I don't know why anyone would be offended at rebadged Proto ... nevertheless, MAC/Proto offers a whole slew of top-tier, USA-made mechanics tools manufactured in house: -Combo wrenches -Chrome Sockets -Impact Sockets -Bit Sockets (including RBRT) -Knurled Extensions -90-Tooth Axis Ratchets...

You've mentioned a couple of times your disdain for the Snap-On Instinct handles ... what is it that you don't like? The size? Shape? I handled one recently, and it seemed ok ... just curious about your experience.

I'm not following this ... at least as it pertains to MAC. Their combination wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, nut drivers, punches & chisels, etc. are all made in the USA at Proto/MAC manufacturing facilities. Now, as others have mentioned, perhaps their specialty tools are mostly...

Maybe I'm not giving Matco enough credit, but for a wide breadth of high quality, USA-made mechanics hand (and power) tools, MAC and Snap-On seem to be in a league of their own ... particularly in a post-Armstrong world.

This is news to me … I’ve always been under the impression that Grip-On’s were best-in-class locking pliers with an infinitely better release mechanism.

I’ve not handled one yet, but those Snap-On prybars do look exceptionally comfortable … very nice haul!

Mainly to upgrade from my wife's nail file ... in addition to ignition points, I use them for all sorts of things. I have a bunch of old Craftsman files (made in Europe somewhere) that I'm probably going to send to Boggs Tools to get sharpened (shout out to @RTM).

That, of course, is only the first tab ... however, I didn't want to be greedy! 🎄
