Count me in the guys that have a HF mid-rise scissor lift. Mine looks just like jagmandave's, but in blue. It works well for me. I had a problem with the brake cable that raises the safety, and called HF in the warranty period, and they sent me another. It took a few weeks, but no problems...

I opened up one if the three fixtures and it had two of these ballasts in it. I assume the others are the same. No mention of a VA rating, but I have four F40T12's in each fixture, two per ballast. It currently has a single switch and ground is available at the switch. Paul

I want to replace the manual switch with a motion activated one in my garage. I have 3 fixtures each with 4x4' tubes rated at 40W. That makes 480W. I see the switches are rated in VA. How do,I determine the VA rating? Is it different from the Watts of all the tubes? Paul

That lift is a 56" lift vs the 39" lift of mine, which also has the wheeled dolly for the pump. The pump dolly is also used to pick up one end of the lift so you can maneuver it in the garage. Paul

My motor is marked at 220V. The hydraulic oil required is listed as ISO VG 32. Can I use AW 32 hydraulic oil (available from Advance Auto in Shield brand)? Paul
