The solder/crimp controversy is always a hot topic. I personally am part of the crimp camp. I have a quality ratchet crimp tool and am very pleased with the results. I also do not use insulated terminals, I prefer bare crimp connectors and high quality shrink tube to insulate them.

Not so. The recess is minimal. I have cars on dolly’s that roll in and out of my shop all the time. My “ Go Jack’s” are unaffected by the recess. If there is problem then the wheels are too small in diameter.

I would suggest you recess the concrete floor where the overhead door meets the concrete. This stops driving rain from migrating under the door seal and into your building. I have it on my home and my shop, works great. Example:
