    Need advice on insulation/ ducting

Not possible to do foam board. There is such minimal space up there, it would be nearly impossible. Blown fiberglass is the only real option. Still original question applies. If this isnt our forever home and I dont see major heating/cooling problems room-to-room, can I get away with just...

    Need advice on insulation/ ducting

Yes my ducts are R6 or R8…either way I posted my questions still - should I just insulate and move on and hope for the best or really consider replacing everything?

    Need advice on insulation/ ducting

Here in AZ R38/44 is plenty for my understanding since it’s not cold. These were all insulation companies

    Need advice on insulation/ ducting

Got (3) insulation contractors out. I can feel the air leaking from the units in the attic, and was interested in getting more insulation to bring me up to R38 here in Arizona. Contractor A ---- He inspected attic for 10mins up there, didnt say much other than they'd seal ducts at plenum that...

between the AG3000 and MARS any preference? It appears the AG3000 might be slightly newer? I will be planning to buy for all the units at the house.

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Left 400psi for 3hrs and no movement along with using "Big Blue" bubbles. Ran another shot of nitrogen to 10psi, evac'd again and now its down to 110 microns. Closed off the valve and will verify it doesnt rise much.

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Flares torqued to 58nm which with a 12’o clock position I think the math works to 70nm which should be good. Haven’t even used nitrogen yet and it’s pulling down to 220 and holding after 10mins. Tomorrow I’ll get a triple evac with nitrogen going and I expect low 100’s to finish.

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Well after many hours and one half of the lineset kinked and in the trash finally got the run done. Note to self next time I need better spacing… The plastic anti-kink lines were an absolute life saver I don’t think I could have routed it like this without them. Naturally I didn’t have a 27mm...

How would you route the mini split drain here?

thank you both -- looks like I need to order quite a few and throw them on both my main heat pumps and the 9k and new 24k units, thanks! Look simple enough to install with a pigtail and wago's

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Is there a reason not to put a surge protector at the subpanel instead and protect everything from there rather than the AC disconnect?

How would you route the mini split drain here?

https://www.pioneerminisplit.com/collections/accesories/products/ultimate-surge-and-power-protection-for-mini-split-systems-icm517 Looks like pioneer offers one but out of stock. Is this overkill or worth the cost? I don’t have surge protectors on my main house heat pumps and they have been on...

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Is the flexible piece supposed to end right at the lineset ports, or is the general idea to end it on the wall and just leave a small amount of the lineset insulation exposed between the wall and the outside unit? On my other 9k unit I installed a few years ago, I routed the entire flexible...

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Flexible was what I was thinking. Or is it acceptable to cut the flexible piece shorter? This is the kit I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DFM44NH8?tag=atomicindus08-20

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Cant move the AC disconnect over because its against a stud and as far in the garage as I can get it. Further hits the water heater unfortunately so its the only spot. I'm not too bothered with the top piece slightly because I would prefer to have the indoors portion where it is right now. Its...

How would you route the mini split drain here?

Got my indoor unit mounted today for the garage. Used these inserts to ensure 100% no kinks in the lineset as I bent it close to the wall, worked a charm! I have gone straight down the wall, and plan to use a flexible piece for the final run into the side of the outdoor unit. How would you all...

    DIY Job for subpanel?

I agree I doubt it could come out logically since the feed wire comes from the ceiling down. It just can’t possibly come out. While getting my breaker I found some push in reliefs for the romex at Home Depot. Wired it in just now. Everything look OK? Couldn’t quite get my ground as straight as...

    DIY Job for subpanel?

EDIT: Owner just called me back and said that what they did IS to code and that wire does not require strain relief and its fine.... I just managed to get my 10ga wire fed through and used a push in connector. Is this acceptable method? *update*** now the owner has basically said its fine, what...
