    Is this wall structural?

Even more fun…the builders didn’t even support the back of the water heater platform. Not a single vertical support Nails and hopes and dreams I guess?

    Is this wall structural?

I dont know what your problem is...If i showed you an image that I already removed it all, THEN asked if it was structural you'd have a reasonable complaint. I havent done anything yet, so I dont understand why you are acting like an A hole? Comes down the exact same on the other side of the...

    Is this wall structural?

I’m not building a structure here…. I’m asking on what I need to do to determine if it’s structural. If it’s structural I won’t deal with it. Exterior:

    Is this wall structural?

There is no attic space - it has a sloping roof over the garage. Would you suggest the best way is cut a small hole next to it and see? I would imagine the joists end on the outer wall (which is the edge of the house to the outside)

    Is this wall structural?

This wall that “hides” the water heater in the garage. I need to remove it so the new heat pump water heater can go there (needs the space). No structural engineer here…but does this look safe to chop down so I can use the space to enlarge the water heater platform? I assume it’s NOT...

Garage enclosure wall removal? For larger water heater.

Phoenix, zero issue dumping it outside. Its what the A/C units do... Sounds like the "we need a full day and two guys, $7800" to install this sounds like a bunch of garbage. I'll look at the Rheem ProTerra 50 gallon Hybrid for $1,850 and install it myself. Reading the Home Depot reviews, most...

Garage enclosure wall removal? For larger water heater.

I just had a plumber come out and he wanted $7800 to swap the electric to a heat pump electric. Seems an absurd price. Was clearly a private equity owned company. If I did my own mini split, flared the lines etc -- is this well within my capability to replace this water heater? It was many...

Garage enclosure wall removal? For larger water heater.

Hi all…advice on this wall. With the tax credits gone in 2026, my thought is replace this electric water heater with a new GE Profile heat pump water heater. Problem is space. Won’t fit…enclosure is 24” and the new GE unit is 24”. If I remove the enclosure wall I can probably get the 7”...

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

Thanks let me simplify it and report back. At the same time though I’ll try to find something that won’t bottom out on the hex head…

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

Ok I think I see what you mean -- but I'm not sure why that would eliminate the leak? The garden hose isnt leaking, and I cant directly connect the garden hose to the filter housing since its NPT…The pressure washer itself is a female connection so the garden hose is hooked up that way to it...

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

What do you mean backwards? This filter is before my car pressure washer and a bunch of PVC pipes...so its not going direct to the house spigot.

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

leaking out the housing through the NPT thread On the OUT side of the housing

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

O ring yes, fair point didn’t really think on it!! If the threads are not in far enough are there longer adapters available? Or is it all a standard length?

Why is this filter housing leaking at the threads?

Pentek Big Blue filter...It just keeps leaking from the threads (leak is from housing to adapter) Its 3/4 NPT, I got myself a NPT to GHT adapter. I have thread tape on it...still leaks. What am I missing here? Is the adapter not long enough to seal properly?

    Need advice on insulation/ ducting

Fair enough - the larger holes tape first then mastic brushed over the top? I might go this route for now until I decide if it’s worth it. Either way I can’t do ducting now because it’s too late in the year already, attic is already near 100F, it’ll hit 150F in the next month by time I get...
