Repurposing House Outlets in the Garage

Receptacles WEAR OUT, just like your boots. Grab a cord without a ground prong and plug it into those receptacles you want to reuse. If it goes in and pulls out without a good amount of resistance then your receptacle is shot. What is happening is the spring pressure required to make a good...

    Trailer conversion

Good question, never thought about that, but I don`t used treated boards. I don't think they're specifically rated for treated boards, but a few years ago I redid my galvanized easy hauler snowmobile trailer, which had 1/2 inch PT plywood, and I was able to reuse a lot of the screws. That...

    Cutting a groove into metal

Oh, so the groove is only two inches long (perpendicular to the length of the bars...) I was picturing the groove along the length of the bar, so didnt get how a drill bit could help as it would need to be 5 feet long... Sounds to me like handbombing it with an angle grinder is the ticket.

    Cooler Kart Build

I didn't read the whole thread, but it looks cool. Just a FYI, that coleman stainless cooler isn't worth the powder to blow it to hell. I bought a red steel cooler from them years ago, and it held up to some years of ice fishing. When it was getting worn out I bought two of those stainless ones...

16x16x24 box, 1/4 inch plate, 6 inch chimney. Made for a couple I fish with. They were married in '72. Yes it's way, way too thick, but it's what they wanted and provided the steel. Door handle from a chipping hammer. Been making this pattern for a while. Always works well, even when old and...

Your "go to" floor clean up

I grouted my shower with "dirt" colored grout for the same reason I just let my entire garage floor get oil stained. If it's all the same then it's not stained (or dirty). It's the old fashioned (and easiest) way to live. Old timers used to spray down their wooden sided houses with used motor...
