Well, four quote later. I got two for stick built and after seeing a buddy's garage/barn over the 4th of July weekend I got two quotes for post/frame (but with normal finishing vinyl, shingles, etc). Menards, Home Depot, and two local lumber yards. All four quotes were within ~$500 @ around...

If you plan to finish the inside and wire, is post/frame NOT the way to go?! What is the best way to wire the inside? I presume your not allowed to drill through the 4x6 or 6x6 posts? I've been considering post/frame for my project to help save on foundation costs and make the building aspect...

This is what I'm going to do. With the help of Shawn Rainey (others suggested him on here), my plans have been modified and are ready for submittal. I'm waiting for my zoning approval currently, before moving on to getting a building permit. Hope things get moving here.... :)

Wow, guess this is a no-brainer, just called DUKE Energy. Meter is free, just have to apply for one 3-5wks out. They will hook up the roadside and meter side for FREE. Your responsible (or contractor) for the trench/wire to and from.

Are those the same ones your using HIRISC?

Code will set where you need to place them. Extras would be up to you.

Did most of you run a seperate line from the box or just tie into the house? I have probably a ~250' run to the box, but would prefer a seperate meter. Will most electrical providers (ie: Duke) allow you to run the wire and trench it yourself and let them do the hookup at THEIR box? Thanks.

I agree 100%. ~3yr old new construction garage floor with no oil, armor-all (Silicone), etc on it... acid washed multiple times, followed their directions to the letter, let dry longer then they suggested. Floor is peeling underneath all my car tires... Same response from warranty, send...
