Covering cut-pile carpet in work room

I'm using my finished basement as a workshop/man cave. The previous owners had just installed $3000+ cut-pile wall to wall carpet with thick "nike"? padding. The stuff is slick too, especially on the stairs. Anyway, I decided to leave in place. Now I have my work benches, storage shelves...

    Best brand metal carports?

We went with http://www.powerbiltbuildings.com/ I think they all come from the same factory. Awesome quality and they they installed 2 in 3 hours. Awesome job and way better than cloth ones. We had to go with 8' high sides to fit the boat.

    Best brand metal carports?

I need to buy two metal roofed car ports to store a car and boat under. 12'x20' and 12'x30' with a 9' clearance underneath for my boat to clear through both (they will be lined up single file). Any suggestions for a good company to buy them from? Google brings up hundreds of metal carport...

Good quality bench grinder and table-top 1/2" drill press?

yeah I can't to HF anymore. Throw away stuff. I'm looking at the ryobi, delta, jet, etc. It won't get much use, but I hate low HP crappy tools that bog down. I want to grind the **** out of some beat up mower blades without the motor slowing down. I want to drill 3/8" holes in steel at low...

I should have specified- I'd rather have a new one. I hate dealing with CL around the DC area- not too much selection on tools...

Good quality bench grinder and table-top 1/2" drill press?

I have a new 8' work bench. I need a grinder to have a wheel on one side and wire brush on the other. Mostly for mower blades, tool sharpening or general steel grinding/cleanup. I like quality, but can't afford Baldor's $800 stuff. What about in the $200 range? What about a nice quality...

Getting started with garage work station- modular bench stuff?

Ha! I was just looking at those on the internet too! Any suggestions on the bamboo laminate vs maple? I'm going to ask for one (or two) for Christmas. I plan to put on a table top drill press, vice, and bench grinder.

Getting started with garage work station- modular bench stuff?

Looking for some long (5-6'), shallow (24-30") work benches for the wall of my garage that are sturdy, solid wood top, and are open on the bottom so I can store my portable air compressor and welder underneath. Where to get them? I didn't see anything good from northen, depot, or lowes.

    Decent 3/4" socket set?

I think the 3/4" socket set without wrench will work for me. I have a 1/2 => 3/4 adaptor to use my torque wrench and impact on. I'll look into that Kobolt USA set on ebay.

    Decent 3/4" socket set?

I asking for a 3/4" socket set for Christmas. Mostly for light duty work like large sized nuts on motorcycles (clutches, axle nuts, etc). Needs to handle 1/2" impact gun to remove, tightening torques from 35-150ft/lbs. I need sizes between 1"-2". Northern Tool has a "Klutch" brand impact...

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

Hmmm.... SK was bought by the Ideal company and I don't even know if the new factory it up and running. Tool stores online are saying low stock on SK, and to call before ordering. That's not promising to be switching brands. I don't want a hodge-podge of brands, I want to start with something...

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

Well after years of being a loyal Craftsman fan, I quit. I'm changing teams, but don't know what brand to go to. I'm sick of the new chinese stuff- the quality is horrible. The last two tool chests I bought from them were broken out of the box. One roller drawer slide was busted apart- the...
