    Vim Tools deals

How long do the sales usually run? I see that it's "This Month Red Hot Deals," but do they usually run out of stock and pull certain products?

Gift Tool Set - Craftsman (and which set?) or Other?

Hello all, Looking to put together a starting-from-scratch tool set for my brother for Christmas this year. This will be aimed to give him a solid core of primarily sockets to build his tool collection around for a lifetime of use. One of the top priorities in selection of a set is ease of...

High Flow Fittings for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT

Hmm... alright. Seems like that's the general consensus. Any suggestions of a good 1/2" air hose with 3/8" fittings? Seems most of the ones I've come across have 1/2" fittings (Tekton, HF, Blubird, Contitech F5).

High Flow Fittings for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT

I'd figured if European Interchange is set up for that kind of flexability, we'd have something like that in the US. Seems I've found 'em! Anyone have experience with the Dixon Air Chief line? (Wondering about durability and stuff) 3/8 body Industrial Interchange supports 70cfm (looks to be...

High Flow Fittings for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT

I'm sort of starting to lean toward those... it's just too bad they don't offer them in 1/2" fittings. Seems like the hoses that receive good reviews, the 1/2" variants all have 1/2" fittings, it would be nice to invest in a fitting style that supports them. Reading/researching topics I find...

High Flow Fittings for 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT

EDIT: So it looks like just downgrading my air hose to one with 3/8" fittings is the best path. The question now is: Any suggestions of a good 1/2" air hose with 3/8" fittings? I've seen it said over and over "1/2" air hose typically has 3/8" NPT," but I'm seeing the exact opposite. Seems most...

Regulator Question - "PSIG Pressure Drop"?

I'm curious... How do you find the max flow rate of a compressor? You're meaning air leaving the tank, not how quickly it can refill, correct?

Regulator Question - "PSIG Pressure Drop"?

I'll probably never go over 30CFM (based on what I've read, that's around the max CFM of my 1/2 HF Earthquake 1190ft/lb impact wrench). Due to the low PSI (125) of my compressor, I'm just wanting to optimize the air system to reduce pressure drop as much as possible, so that the usable (at full...

Regulator Question - "PSIG Pressure Drop"?

Thank you for the replies! So what is that number then? After reading your replies, and thinking about it, I'm thinking this is it: -They measure PSI going into and coming out of regulator. They keep pulling higher and higher CFM until there's a 15PSI differential between input and output, and...

Regulator Question - "PSIG Pressure Drop"?

Hello all, I'm getting ready to purchase a replacement for the cheap regulator that came on my HF compressor, and I've been reading around and have seen the mention of "Pressure drop" on regulators. For example...

Tekton Air Hoses - The New Goodyear?

Hello all, I'm in the market for an air hose, and based on what I've read on here, Goodyear air hoses are some of the most popular due to their durability (in the past). However, there are some more recent reviews on Amazon pointing to their quality going downhill. This lead me to do some...

3/8" Fittings vs. 1/2" Fittings on 1/2" Air Hose (+General Fitting Questions)

Re: 3/8" Fittings vs. 1/2" Fittings on 1/2" Air Hose (+General Fitting Questions) Thanks for the reply! With as little as I'll be using it for now, I don't know I'd feel that great dropping the big bucks on a compressor (also, there are currently storage space constraints to contend with as...

3/8" Fittings vs. 1/2" Fittings on 1/2" Air Hose (+General Fitting Questions)

3/8" Fittings vs. 1/2" Fittings on 1/2" Air Hose (+General Fitting Questions) EDIT: Holy wall of text. If you just want to get down to the questions without wading through my life story, jump down to the area just below the three asterisks. --------- Hello, all! I've spent way too much time...
