When I did my shed I added a thin second plywood layer to be sacrificial for tines, tire chains, etc. I put two coats of floor enamel on that to protect from spillls.
As a homeowner I don’t need either one but at the fire station we use Milwaukee fuel. We’ve even replaced our gas chain saws with them they are that good.

Having owned your style suburban with both the 454 and the 6.5 as new vehicles, I’d never even consider that diesel. It was the most unreliable engine I’ve ever experienced. It’s a shame because a suburban is a great vehicle, but GM diesels are junk.
OMO is the Pierce, right? I don’t know how it is up your way, but in PA fire trucks don’t have to follow axle loadings in the vehicle code if they are certified By the manufacturer, so that could be an issue when the truck becomes civilian owned
I agree you don’t need a sleeper unless you are traveling a lot... and it takes a lot of hotel rentals to match a truck price. And for the Suburbans, would it be better to buy one newer rust free one and get rid of the rest? There’s a lot to be said of being able to drive something without...
