let's see your craftsman block grinders

I went for a stroll through ReStore hoping to find a kitchen sink (I found the perfect one) and spotted the familiar lines of a block grinder from two isles away. Already having two grinders I didn't need a third, but I couldn't pass it up for...$28!!!! Everything works as it should, even the...

    Craftsman block grinder help

20201204_203221 by M. Blue 240, on Flickr I picked this great grinder off CL. The seller stated I was 2nd in line, but then told me I could have it for free. The first buyer showed up and walked away from it when it threw the garage breaker when they tested it. With the promise to fix it the...

    Vintage Craftsman block grinder

I have the same issue with one of mine. The suggestions I received were liquid tape. I was going to heat shrink as much as I could, then liquid tape the rest. Thankfully another member hooked me up with a good stator, I should be able to drop it in next week.

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Man this thread moves quick, I had to go back two pages to see my post lol. This is the 1/3hp I need to repair wiring on. 20210128_115901 by M. Blue 240, on Flickr This is my work horse 1/2hp. The finish is in worse shape, but it runs like a top. Once the 1.3 is up and running I may dig into...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Thanks guys. I'll get some more pictures tomorrow. My initial thought was to solder in a new wire and get heat shrink down as tight as I can to the spool. Every wire is so stiff it feels like insulation will crack if you try to flex them.

let's see your craftsman block grinders

I'm in need of some help. I was 2nd in line to buy this 1963 grinder and the seller called me to say the 1st buyer showed up and they found that the grinder was kicking the breaker when they tried to turn it on. If I promised to fix it he would give me the grinder for free...I jumped on it...

    Coveralls?

Our local Kmart is closing, so everything is being liquidated. I bought new Diehard short sleeve coveralls for $23. They had various colors and sizes. They even had the insulated Carhartt style ones for about $50. This is my first pair. I've usually just hit Goodwill and bought $10 jeans, plus...

The Volvo Bunker: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Basement.

Another TB member crossing over, can't wait to see the progress. I'd invest in a ceiling and painting it white asap. It will make a huge difference in the amount of light you have in the room.

    The Swedish Garage

Wow no update in two years. I've been busy with 60+ hour work weeks, three kids, and everything else life throw my way. I dug through some facebook pics ad found the best garage related updates. First I bought a '68 144S Then I parted the '68 144S Then I bought an '83 242 that hasn't been...

The Norwegian one car Volvo garage!

The garage looks great, but I love the car! I bet those shelves are full of special "Swedish only" parts. The tail lights alone are harder to find than anything I have stashed in my parts collection. Keep the pics coming!

My BMW Motorsport 3 Car Garage Build

I can't believe you found an R in the yard, let alone with all the goodies still there. I've been trying find some odds 'n ends screws for my 242 and am coming up dry around here. Check out ARD tuning to flash your ecu. http://www.ardtuning.com/

    Show your new tool arrivals

Used Craftsman flex head ratchet, 3/8" extensions, and one 1/4" extension. All bought for less than have the cost of new Chinese pieces. One battery is dead and the bulb in the light is dead. For $20 though it works much better than the Black and Decker whose chuck I can't keep tight...

    Grandfather's tools

A few years ago I inherited a handful of tools that were my Grandfather's. I put them away in a box and didn't think much of them until I saw something on gj about wood handled screw drivers. I pulled everything out a few weeks ago and low and behold I have some cool stuff. I could use some help...

    Tractor Supply Channel Lock Sale

I went to HD tonight and bought two pairs of 420 at $5 each. I printed the ad off of the Tractor Supply website and took it in with me. Cashier commented about it being a good deal and worked the magic for me. If I had the energy to sell them online I could have grabbed 10+ pairs.

Setting up Shop... 30x40 Time Capsule... Suggestions needed!

This just about sums it up. If you have the money I would hang osb or drywall on the walls and ceiling, then paint. White walls and ceiling make a huge difference in how the garage feels and looks. I'd talk to your Dad about taking the shelves down, if you promise to build bigger and better shelves.
