I guess it ok in a reasonably dry climate? In the UK however, theres no such thing! Maybe you still treat wood properly over there? Here, the treatment is useless compared to the past. No chance of 10 years, unless you can use old telegraph poles.

Indeed. Makes no sense to me. Timber in the ground only last 5-10 years absolute max.

I did think about a castor afterwards. Might still do it. Recess it into the gate vertical. My field gate, which is significantly wider, does rest on the pad, with the downside that it gets wet. This one doesnt actually touch it. Just. But being a wooden gate it will sag. I fact, i think i...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Mixed Grill - From London , England - GRIZZMAKES world

Diesel heater is a no brainer. Electricity has got plain stupid! Even at circa 70% efficiency, thats still 7kWh of usuable heat in a litre of diesel.

Meanwhile, the domestic operations still need to continue. During Storm Darragh, we lost the gate post (and a couple of trees, but that will have to wait) The gate has a screen on it. The 80mph wind directly on it meant the gate post on the latch side snapped. It was a 4 inch post, and not in...

Been kinda busy so somewhat lax in posting. As per one of my previous posts, its time to start doing some actual work on cars, rather than the building. Ill keep chipping away at it, but the Atlas needs to be on the road by Septemeber latest, for an event, so thats started. Loose plan is to...

Im planning on doing drawer organisation on a piecemeal basis, so that i stay sane! Theres a pallet of stuff in front of the drawers now, so i can start. Theres also a pallet on the mezz f pipes, hoses, heatshrink, cable and other stuff that can go on reels to sort out. This is a touch more...

A final bit of organisation before i call time on it, and turn to some restoration work. Utilising, once again, some more cantilever shelving left by the previous owner. It was up agaisnt the end wall next to the roller door, but need this space for the parts washer and aquablaster. So i...

With all that rain you are having, you could have a pond that doubles as a balancing lake.

The edge of the mezz will have 2x2 galvinised angle along it, but just now, everyone is out of stock!!!!! Or they use a certain shipping company who NEVER deliver to us as its too far, so they just tip it somewhere and sign it off themselves. An ongoing battle. So will be coming back to that...

Still plodding away with the mezz. It needs doing, but i cant say i really enjoy it. But its a means to an end, so press on we must. To produce the overhang, i wanted to avoid having anything bespoke made. Extensive scratching around on the internet came up with these crash barrier supports. So...

Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT London Calling. An ordinary life.

I see theres no sun down there either! Certainly less busy than when i took the boss there earlier in the year. Lovely as it is, im not much of a fan. Im soft and prefer the south coast. If you ever get a chance, go to the Helford passage. Dinner outside the pub on a summers evening is...

Thats an awful lot of rain! I live in the hills in wales, and 1500mm is sort of normal here. And most would consider that a pretty wet place.
